This trip was exceptional! The boat was lovely and the waters were smooth. The crew made for what felt like a luxurious experience journeying to North Seymour island, and they were friendly and hospitable. Our tour guide, Alejandro, was so knowledgeable and really made us feel safe throughout our whole journey. We even saw a flamingo on Bachas Island! Thank you to the whole staff and crew for making our experience so wonderful. 

Galapagos - 1 day tour to North Seymour Island

The trip was great. The boat was new and fairly big and we had calm waters both going to North Seymour and coming back. The snacks and the meal on board were excellent. The highlight of the trip was the long guided walk across the island to see close up  the many mating and nesting frigate birds with their red balloons. They took us snorkeling twice, once from a dinghy and then on Bachas Beach. They walked us down to the end of the beach to see flamingos in a pond.

The trip was great. The two guides were very informative and they made sure all members of our group made it up the hill at Bartolome. The boat was new and fairly big and the snacks and lunch on the boat were excellent. They took us by dingy to see penguins right at the base of the pinnacle. The water was a bit choppy on the way back, rolling side to side, but nobody got sick.

It was a great trip.  Very interesting, and well looked after.
They should recommend to take a sunshade because it was so hot.
They did not allow us to disembark wearing shoes, but the terrain was hard, full of rocks hiden with sand, making walking a painfull experience

What a wonderful trip. Perfectly organized with incredible accommodations both on land and boat. Memorable and diverse daily  activities and experiences. The guides went above and beyond and took extra caution with our elderly father.  The food exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t be more satisfied with the trip.

We just got home from six days in the Galapagos Islands. We spent three of the days on tours booked through Liz at 'we travel'.
We had AMAZING adventures! 
We really enjoyed being land based and spending a portion of our days on booked tours.
We took yacht tours to Bartolome and North Seymour on the Adriana and to Plazas on the Galaxy.
The boats were very nice. The food was so good. The crew and guides were knowledgeable, super organized and efficient. 
The hikes were very interesting and lasted about an hour. The snorkeling was fantastic in all three locations, but especially great in Bartolome where we snorkeled with white fin sharks and Galapagos penguins.
Swimming with the sea lions at Des Moscados (I hope my spelling is correct!) was a highlight of the entire trip!
Special shout out to the crew of the Adriana, including Lucas, Virgil and our guide James who went above and beyond any expectation we had.
I believe there were about 14 of us maximum on these tours and we met so many fun and interesting people on board.
Pack your swimsuit, sunscreen and book a boat tour!


Galapagos  3 days tour

Liz Arboleda of BEGalapagos travel arranged three day cruises for us, all from Puerto Ayora.  The first went to North Seymour Island.  The second, which was the next day, went to South Plazas Island.  The third, two days later, went to Bartolome Island and Sullivan's Bay on Santiago Island, virtually next to Bartolome.

Each of the tours was excellent.  They were long days because the boat had to travel there.  But they were informative and wonderful experiences.  The itineraries were similar.  We were four persons.  They picked us up at our hotel in the morning (twice at 7 am and once at 6 am for the Bartolome tour).  The tour guide was Camilo for all three tours; he was excellent.  We then drove northward to the Itabaca Channel where we took a rubber dingy (which looked like something from World War II) to the boat (the same one for all three trips).  We then traveled to the respective island.  We then took the rubber dingy to the island where we had a walking tour that lasted about one and a half hours.  We then went back to the boat for lunch and snorkling.

The tours are rigorous.  There is no question about that.  The islands all are covered with large lava stones and negotiating them is difficult, especially for us who are in our 70s and 80s.  Often you have to choose between stepping on two different stones to proceed, and it is sometimes not clear which one is better (be prepared for skinned knees).  However, you see an incredible variety of animals - dozens of Great frigate birds and Blue-footed Boobies, land iguanas, sea lions, small iguanas/lizards.  There is no shade on these three islands, just cactuses and bushes.  It was also hot so good head coverings are essential.  

But it was worth it in every way.  We got dozens of great photographs which I am still sorting out (it will take weeks to produce some organization in them).

Lunch was simple.  The snorkling varied by the trip.  For the first trip to North Seymour, they went to a beach that was filled with sea lions who were sunning themselves.  We didn't go because we were still hot from the walk and didn't want to be in the sun anymore; so, we stayed on the boat and cooled down.   For the second trip to South Plazas, we snorkled off some lava rocks on the north side of Baltra Island.  This came after lunch so that we had time to cool down after the hour and a half walk.  For the third trip to Bartolome/Sullivan's Bay, we went to a beach, again after lunch, where it was possible to swim and snorkel.

Overall, the trips were terrific.  If I had to do it again, I would take one less trip because one needs time to recover from it before launching another trip, especially for older persons like us.  But it really was a wonderful experience, all three tours.  As the cliche goes, it really was a trip of a lifetime!  However, we are planning on going back to Puerto Ayora so we may have a repeat of a lifetime trip.  After all, if you have found a good thing, you want to experience it again and again.  These tours were great.

I highly recommend Liz from BeGalapagos.  I was probably inclined to like her because she was highly recommended by our Santa Cruz hotel, which is the #1 rated place on Trip Advisor, as an "honest" travel advisor.  Indeed, Liz gave me impartial advice when selecting a day tour "you can pay more for luxury but you'll see the same things". She was also super responsive (seemingly on Whatsapp at all hours) and helpful. In fact, she arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport (necessary in my opinion given the number of transfers involved in getting from airport to Santa Cruz) and a stop at the Tortoise farm on the way which was amazing. When we arrived at our hotel, Liz was actually waiting for us in the lobby to go over our next day's itinerary. She also volunteered to pick up ferry tickets for our trip to Isabella and sent very helpful instructions for Whatsapp so that we knew what time we needed to be at the boat and the procedures checking in.  Liz went out of her way for us, and her expert knowledge and ultra responsiveness really enhanced our Galapagos stay.
