We spend our morning exploring the monuments and churches of Krakow’s city center including the Market Square, the Collegium, Wawel Castle, and the iconic Wawel Cathedral. In the afternoon, we visit the famous Wieliczka Salt Mines for a tour and a special Mass within one of the many chapels carved into the mines.

Our morning begins with a visit to the Jasna Gora Monastery. With its religious, historic, and artistic value, this monastery, which houses the famous Black Madonna, draws many thousands of faithful pilgrims through its doors each year. With time in the afternoon to experience Czestochowa individually, we return to our Krakow hotel in time for a group dinner to close the day.

Following breakfast we will proceed to Wadowice, birthplace of Karol Wojtla, the late Pope John Paul II. There, we visit his family home, which now houses a museum dedicated to the late Pontiff. In the afternoon, we continue to a place that was a popular pilgrimage place for the Pope when he was a young man, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, where in the 17th century the Palatine of Krakow founded a Franciscan Monastery.

Departing Krakow, we travel south to Zakopane. Located in the base of the Tatra Mountains, Zakopane was a favorite vacation destination for Pope John Paul II. Our group will visit several sacred places in this beautiful mountain town including the Chapel of Sacred Heart, the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, and the National Cemetery. We will also explore the vibrant Krupowki promenade to enjoy a delicious lunch and take care of some souvenir shopping! The day ends with a funicular ride to a scenic overlook followed by dinner at our hotel. 

Overnight: Zakopane (Breakfast, Dinner)

We set out into the Tatra Mountains to enjoy a relaxed, 7km hike in honor of John Paul II, who was known for leading groups of young people into nature to strengthen their faith. Our hike will culminate in a visit to the Wiktorowki Sanctuary. Later, we return to our hotel to spend the afternoon at leisure. This evening, we enjoy Mass followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

We return to Krakow and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. This evening, we gather for Mass followed by Floriani’s closing concert performance! Afterwards, we gather to mark the end of our pilgrimage with a special dinner at a local restaurant.

Parting ways with our fellow pilgrims and new friends, we bid farewell to Poland and make our way home with cherished memories of faith and fellowship that will last a lifetime!
