Ability This tour requires a medium to high level of physical fitness and skiing ability.Alpine climbing expertise is not necessary, but some experience navigating terrain with crampons and ice axes is strongly recommended.
Equipment For this tour, in addition to the basic backcountry equipment, ice axes and crampons are mandatory. We have the possibility of renting all the equipment you need in advance.
Guiding & Hosting: This tour has a person 100% in charge of hosting and customer experience who will be available 24/7 for any unforeseen event or need. The guide is added every 4 people. The minimum number of skiers is 3 and the maximum is 6. The guides are all locals of the area. For example in the volcanoes tour you will be guided by someone who lives and spends most of his time in this area. All are certified and qualified to make you feel safe and comfortable.

Day 1 The adventure begins at Cerro Catedral, where you’ll meet your guide for a warm welcome, gear check, and safety briefing. From there, the journey to Refugio Frey starts with a ski ascent through stunning alpine terrain, crossing the iconic Col de los Vientos. Along the way, you’ll enjoy your first descents, surrounded by breathtaking views of the Catedral Range.By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at Refugio Frey, a cozy mountain refuge nestled among snow-covered granite spires. After settling in, a hearty dinner awaits, and plans for the following day’s adventures are made.
Day 2 On the second day, wake up to a sunrise over the Andes and a warm breakfast before heading out for a full day of ski touring.The terrain around Refugio Frey is a skier’s dream, featuring legendary couloirs and towering granite needles. After a morning of carving fresh lines, you’ll return to the refuge for a hot lunch before venturing out again in the afternoon to explore more of this incredible backcountry paradise.Dinner and a crackling fire provide the perfect end to a day of adventure.
Day 3 Day three takes you deeper into the Catedral Range. With your guide, you’ll seek out untouched powder, hidden bowls, and challenging lines that offer spectacular descents and unforgettable views. This full day of skiing showcases the best that the area has to offer, with plenty of opportunities to push your limits or simply enjoy the serenity of the snowy landscape.Back at the refuge, a well-earned meal and camaraderie with your group make for another memorable evening.
Day 4 On the final day, enjoy a last morning of skiing around Refugio Frey, soaking in the magic of the terrain one last time.After packing up, you’ll make the descent back to Cerro Catedral, carving your way through scenic slopes and reflecting on an incredible journey. By the afternoon, you’ll arrive back at the resort, wrapping up the adventure with lasting memories of pristine powder, dramatic landscapes, and the warmth of Refugio Frey.
