Enjoy breakfast this morning before we embark on a spring blossom tour throughout the Door County peninsula. During spring, Door County is awash in color and the sweet scent of new blooms. The rows upon rows of flowering cherry trees are particularly spectacular and definitely a must-see! Enjoy the views of the peninsula blossoms and majestic scenic overlooks from aboard our trolley, sample delicious wines at an award-winning winery, and settle in for a cozy carriage ride in the quaint village of Fish Creek. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant before we turn our attention to another Wisconsin highlight – cheese! Wisconsin’s cheesemaking began in the 1830s and was soon influenced by the influx of immigrants who brought their cheesemaking traditions with them. We’ll visit a popular cheese store and meet an artisan cheesemaker who will share the secrets of their craft and some delicious samples. Our day will come to an end back in Sturgeon Bay with the evening at our leisure to grab dinner at one of the many restaurants within walking distance of our resort.

Up first today is a visit to the Door County Maritime Museum to uncover the rich maritime history of the Great Lakes and get an up-close look at the John Purves tugboat. Authentic and glorious in her details, this vintage 1919 tug has been refinished and restored for viewing the engine room, galley, and cabins. We will then say goodbye to Door County and make our way south to Lake Geneva for a two-night stay at the amazing Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, where the rooms are inspired by lake country-style estate homes, with eclectic furniture, natural stone, and white marble tiles. This resort is one of only five AAA Four-Diamond resorts in Wisconsin! Time will be available to settle in and freshen up before we gather for dinner together.

Today is a day at leisure to enjoy the amenities of this destination resort and the many wonderful activities available in the area. The Grand Geneva boasts two stunning golf courses and a salon and spa. Hit the links, get pampered with a luxurious spa treatment, or grab a drink at one of several lounges. There’s also some great restaurants and fine-dining options at the resort. Enjoy quality wine and the finest cuts at Geneva Chophouse, savor fresh ingredients flown in from Italy weekly at Ristoranté Brissago, or head to the Grande Café for a seasonal menu crafted from ingredients grown closer to home. For something more casual, Links Bar & Grille and Leinenkugel’s Mountain Top Lodge are perfect for a quick bite with a view. There is plenty to see and do outside of the resort as well. Wander along the winding trails, stroll along the shores of Lake Geneva, or cruise out on the shimmering waters on a boat tour. The boutiques, restaurants, and breweries located throughout Lake Geneva are top-notch and also great to explore! Tonight we’ll gather for a wonderful farewell dinner to share stories of our day’s explorations!

Following breakfast we are off to the Fireside Dinner Theatre for a lunch and a matinee performance (show schedule to be determined). This is one of the Midwest’s most popular entertainment destinations and the shows are always a hit! We’ll then board our motorcoach for the journey home with stops for comfort along the way.
