GROUP CLASSES
This is a fabulous trip for both dancing and exploring nature! Our land-days will give us ample opportunity and space for dance lessons and parties on shore. And while we will also try to do this on the boat at sea, there is never a guarantee that the ocean will cooperate with us (last time we did get in plenty of dancing on the ship, but not always when we had hoped to or when we had scheduled it in)
Our shore-time daily group classes will include a mix of morning and/or afternoon sessions in a variety of dance styles -- mostly of the swing & American jazz family (ie, ECS, Lindy, blues, WCS, foxtrot, balboa, blues-swing fusion, etc), with a strong emphasis on both partnering & connection as well as introducing fun new step patterns and stylings. That being said, and space permitting, we can also dabble in some traveling dances (ie, waltz, NC2S, etc), and Latin (cha cha, rumba, bachata, etc) at the groups discretion.
Group activities might also include afternoon & evening pop-up dances, cocktail social hours, games, and other fun "non-dancing" activities. So many options, so little time!
CLASS LEVEL: Our classes are exciting, informative, relatively fast-paced, and as such are tailored much more to the intermediate and above-level social dancer. Unless we are introducing a brand new dance, we do not gear any of our classes towards beginning dancers. Participants should have a solid, broad-based dance background.
If you have any questions about your level of dance, please let us know.
The Galapagos Islands are a largely untouched natural paradise. In order to experience the splendor of the diverse landscapes and waters, the included activities on this trip often require a moderate level of fitness. We ask that you read the itinerary carefully to ensure that you will be able to participate fully.
Our smaller-sized ship makes cruising from island to island a breeze so you can spend more time exploring the gorgeous surrounds than stuck onboard. Compact size means that the steps between the decks are steep, and as they are designed to maximize living area space, sleeping quarters are cosy.
For getting to small islets, coves and prime snorkeling spots, it is sometimes necessary to use a Zodiac boat (panga). You will need to be comfortable climbing in and out of one during wet and dry landings.
The waters of the Galapagos are generally calm and serene. However, there is always the possibility of choppy water at sea. Steady sea legs (and a sturdy stomach) will be needed when walking around the boat during bad weather. Rain or shine, your trusty crew will always be on hand to assist you.
Things are never set in stone when you’re traveling on island time. A sense of humor and flexibility will ensure you have a fun, relaxing trip through this beautiful part of the world no matter what happens. While the crew will do their best to follow the itinerary, variations may occur due to weather or under direction from local authorities.
You will want to fly in and out of the Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport (airport code: UIO).
We will have one overnight stay in Quito both before the Galapagos cruise and after at Le Parc Hotel, Quito (https://en.leparc.com.ec).
=> Plan to arrive in Quito on May 17th, 2027
=> Plan to depart Quito May 26th, 2027
If you would like to extend your trip on either end at the Le Parc Hotel in Quito, please let us know and we can book the extra nights for you, no worries :)
Travel insurance is required for all of our trips and will help protect both your investment and our vendors should you need to cancel. There are many companies that offer travel insurance options. You can sign up with one such policy during the payment checkout portion of this registration.
Private 3rd-Party Insurance Companies:
If you are a AAA member, you may want to check with them.
I have also found that Faye insurance is very easy to purchase online. (www.withFaye.com).
Allianz Travel Insurance seems to be a very popular choice among our travelers as well (www.allianztravelinsurance.com) If you travel several times a year, Allianz also provides an annual travel insurance policy which can save you money overall. It's very easy to sign up online, or you can contact the Allianz reservations team at 866 884-3556.
This WeTravel website has a travel insurance policy that you may purchase at checkout. The policy allows you to cancel for any reason, which is a nice option to have. Other travel insurance companies may place restrictions on why you may cancel (for medical emergency only, etc). Be sure to check your policy limitations
Here is an online list of the 10 Best Travel Insurance Companies for 2025
Airlines:
Airlines also frequently provide travel insurance for your trip that you can purchase at the check out page when you are buying your tickets, and you may want to look at that option as well. Be sure you know if this covers just the flight, or the flight and travel in-between.
Credit Card Inclusions:
Certain credit cards also provide cancellation and interruption benefits for any vacation package that you may buy using your card. This means that if you charge the full pre-paid cost of a packaged trip through a travel agency to your credit card, that expense typically qualifies for purposes of travel insurance protections. Please note: if the travel agency's merchant category or descriptions on your statement don't clearly show prepaid travel or a traveler itinerary, the card issuer may require supporting documents. One of our participants found this to be true in our case when she discovered her purchase was registered on her credit card statement as "entertainment" and not "travel". Be sure to check with your credit card company first to make sure that 1) they provide travel insurance, and that 2) you know exactly what they are covering and what you would need to submit to them for a refund.

Isla Santa Fe is home to many sea lions and is a fantastic place to go snorkelling. This morning, expect to see Galapagos hawks, land iguanas, a variety of finches, Galapagos mockingbirds, marine turtles, frigatebirds, Galapagos doves and lava lizards, too. After your snorkel, head out for a hike on a trail along the coast, heading into the opuntia forest. Walk under the largest trees in the Galapagos to a forest of prickly pears and look out for the unique sub-species of land iguana that live here. Later, sail to Plaza Sur, where you’ll get close to sea lions and follow a trail past one of the Galapagos’ largest land iguana populations. Walk through cacti and volcanic landscapes, coloured bright red and green by sesuvium. The island’s rugged southern cliffs are an excellent place to spot tropicbirds and swallow-tailed gulls, as well as the 'Gentlemen’s Club’ – a gathering of male sea lions.

HIGHLIGHTS:
Isla Espanola - Bahia Gardner - Punta Suarez
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Schedule:
Wake up on the island of Espanola – the southernmost island of the Galapagos. Because of its remote location, this island has a large population of endemic fauna and is the breeding site for nearly all the 12,000 pairs of waved albatrosses on Earth. Take a trail to where sea lions bathe and marine iguanas make their way towards the water, walking right through booby colonies. Then, visit Punta Suarez. Walk along a trail that takes you to a clifftop viewpoint, where you'll see the boobies line the rocky shoreline beneath, while frigate birds soar overhead. Nearby, male sea lions can be seen lounging. Watch the albatross use the cliffs as their ‘runway’, helped into the air by the southeast winds that blow across this part of the island. If you’re lucky, you’ll also see the elaborate courtship rituals before the female chooses her lifelong mate! End the day on a white sandy beach at Bahia Gardner. The rocks off the coast provide excellent snorkelling opportunities, with reef sharks, turtles, sea lions and many species of tropical fish – including surgeon and angelfish – often seen. White-tipped reef sharks are also commonly spotted resting under the rocks.
Accommodation:
M/Y Grand Queen Beatriz (1 night)

HIGHLIGHTS:
Isla Cristobal - Leon Dormido - Isla Lobos - Punta Pitt
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Schedule:
Visit Punta Pitt on the eastern end of Isla San Cristobal this morning. Walk to the top of the volcanic hill for expansive views of the sparsely vegetated area. A variety of seabirds nest here, including blue-footed boobies and frigates. Then, sail to Leon Dormido (Kicker Rock) – the basalt remains of a crater in the middle of the sea, resembling a sleeping lion. The rock rises 150 m above the surface and is divided into two parts by a narrow channel. Although there are no landing areas, you’ll circumnavigation the Rock to see tropicbirds, marine iguanas and sea lions. Later, visit Isla Lobos – a tiny island off the coast of San Cristobal. This is the perfect time to watch as the sea lions play in the shallow waters. Blue-footed boobies, frigate birds and marine iguanas can also be seen.
