Tortuga Bay Beach is internationally recognized as one of the top 25 beaches worldwide. To reach this beautiful beach, we’ll embark on a leisurely 45-minute walk. The beach spans approximately 2 kilometers and boasts white sand composed of fish bones and white coral. It serves as a sanctuary for iguanas, sea turtles, and other unique species, providing an ideal setting for swimming and engaging in beach activities. Afterward, we’ll return to Puerto Ayora.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the Charles Darwin Station—an opportunity to witness Galapagos conservation efforts in action. Their crucial work aims to safeguard the pristine habitat of the Galapagos National Park. During our visit, we’ll encounter giant tortoises endemic to the island, observe land iguanas and finches along the trails, and explore the VAN STRAELEN INTERPRETATION CENTER. This space offers insights into Galapagos sharks, mangroves, marine currents, and invasive marine species.
