The hike-tour with Javier was amazing! We really had a good time and got a lot of intetestin informations about the culture, nature and history from Ingapirca and in general from Peru. Javier was always there for us and tood for us very well

I was travelling with my son and daughter-in-law. We purchased flights to Guayaquil, prior to an increase in travel safety alerts to the area. Due to the travel advisories, we decided to head straight from Guayaquil to Cuenca. Not being familiar with local politics and safety concerns, we opted to book a private shuttle, rather than rent a car, or book a bus or a tourist group shuttle. I arrived in Guayaquil the night before, and had Steven meet me at the Airport, where I was waiting for my family to arrive. Moments after they cleared customs, Steven was there, ready to take us to Cuenca. This turned out to be an excellent decision, as there had been lots of rain and mud slides and issues with local authorities clearing the road, causing traffic delays. It was nice that Steven knew what was going on when our car wasn't moving for long periods of time. He was an excellent driver and navigated the "rough road" spots with ease. He drove us to Cajas National Park where we switched cars and driver. We were originally scheduled to have Xavier drive us, but there had been a last minute issue and Steven had been sent to care for us in Xavier's absence. Xavier is the one who met us at Cajas. He took us on a hike, offering a short or longer hike. We chose the longer hike. Xavier was an excellent guide and was able to describe the area and the fauna. Once the hike was over, he took us the rest of the way to our accommodation. Both Steven and Xavier were excellent drivers, very personable, and full of local information. And even with switching cars/drivers - the exchange was very easy and not a problem at all. Communication with the company was also excellent. I was nervous going into this trip, especially with the local travel advisories and weather issues, but they took very good care of us.

Travelling with my son and daughter-in-law, we scheduled Cuenca Bestours to drive us from Cuenca to Baños de Agua Santa. Steven picked us up promptly in the morning. We were glad to see him as he had also driven us another day. Steven is an excellent driver and very personable. He offered to stop at several viewpoints, which we were happy to do, and he also stopped to allow us to sample some local foods early in the day. We had previously arranged to stop at Ingapirca Ruins. Unfortunately when we arrived, they were not open. However, he pulled up pretty close and we got a good view of some of the ruins. We also took a short hike to Cara del Inca (Face of the Inca), also known as Ingañahui, located on the Intiloma hill. It was a short hike and not too difficult. At one point, we pulled over to a viewpoint where we could see one of the nearby volcanos. Steven was taking photos right along with us, as he said, that was the best view he had seen since the views were unobstructed by clouds that day. Steven even joined us for lunch. Steven stopped anytime we asked him to as well. We had a great day and highly recommend this private transfer and Steven as a driver.

My trip with Cuenca Best Tours was fantastic, coordinated by Javier, who was very responsive to me and tailored my itinerary to meet my needs. All of my guides and excursions were excellent! Everything exceeded expectations! And I always felt safe and cared for as a solo female traveler. I cannot recommend Javier or Cuenca Best Tours enough!
