This was a nice tour covering three areas near Cuenca. The Ingapirca site is very interesting, different from other sites you may have seen because there are two different cultures represented. You do not need to buy tickets in advance and even though the web site indicated passport is mandatory, we were not asked to produce one. The included lunch was at a nice hotel, large portions. The food was tasty and we enjoyed the view of the pool from our patio table. Both of the towns you visit are nice. There isn't much actual time in Gualaceo as you spend the time at lunch and the demo of the weaving. It has a nice market in case you need a snack, and the river that runs past it is nice. Chordeleg was a cute town, but according to our guide is somewhat gussied up for tourist in recent years, so maybe technically less authentic. That said, the main square was very lively when we were there on a Saturday, they had a nice local market running and of course you have all of the jewelry shops lining the square and the streets nearby. We enjoyed the owner of one shop show us how he makes the jewelry, very intricate. This the only place in Ecuador we purchased any souvenirs, as the silver is not expensive and its very beautiful. We were lucky to have a private tour as no others signed up for our day, so we enjoyed having a private tour guide. He did a good job explaining things and answering our questions. Overall a nice day, a good way to visit some spots without the local bus or driving. The two towns are fairly close to Cuenca, so if you wanted to go back again, it would be less than an hour by bus.

I greatly enjoyed this tour! Ingapirca is a very unique and interesting site. In addition, we visited the beautiful Santuario de la Virgen del Rocío, which is stunning, and we visited a local market. Our guide, Luis, was extremely professional, kind, and knowledgeable. I recommend this tour.

Luis was friendly, patient, informative— and fully bilingual. His knowledge base is broad. He interweaves the stories of the different peoples in Ecuador in a manner that was clear and seems reasonable. I noticed that ge gave every visitor equal attention. We all laughed together during our tour!

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our tour with Wilson. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Cajas National Park and did a great job explaining the area in so much detail. We learned a lot and really appreciated his insights. He also got us safely to Guayaquil, which we were very grateful for. Thanks again, and please pass along our compliments to Wilson—he was fantastic!
