About this trip

Nestled in the heart of one of the world's most pristine and biodiverse destinations, our Galapagos Yoga Retreat invites you to experience the perfect blend of tranquility and adventure. Set against the stunning backdrop of volcanic landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation, this retreat offers an immersive journey into nature’s wonders while nourishing your body, mind, and soul through daily yoga sessions.

About the trip

Each day includes a gentle yet invigorating yoga practice in one of the most serene and breathtaking locations on the islands—whether it’s by the beach, in the shadow of towering volcanic craters, or overlooking the turquoise waters. Our expert instructors guide you through meditative flows, gentle stretches, and mindfulness practices that will deepen your connection to both yourself and the environment.

But this retreat isn’t just about yoga. During your stay, you’ll have the chance to explore the best snorkeling and hiking the Galapagos Islands have to offer. Discover the vibrant marine life of the islands, including sea turtles, playful sea lions, and colorful fish, all while snorkeling in pristine waters. The adventure continues on land, where you'll hike through lush landscapes, volcanic terrain, and along rugged coastlines, witnessing the unique wildlife that has inspired Charles Darwin's theories on evolution.

Who we are

We are a community-focused and environmentally conscious local travel agency, dedicated to ensuring that your experience is both enriching and sustainable. We prioritize eco-friendly practices, such as minimizing waste, supporting local artisans, and promoting conservation efforts in the Galapagos. By choosing to travel with us, you are helping protect this extraordinary environment for generations to come.

Getting to Galapagos

Flights to the Galapagos Islands depart daily from Guayaquil (GYE) or Quito (UIO) on mainland Ecuador. For this retreat, book your flight into Baltra Airport (GPS), also known as Seymour Airport. From there, we’ll handle your transfer to Puerto Ayora so your adventure can begin smoothly.

The Perfect Balance

Between yoga, adventure, and downtime, you'll have plenty of space to relax and rejuvenate. Whether you wish to spend the afternoon reading a book on the beach, reflecting in nature, or enjoying a locally sourced meal, this retreat is about honoring your individual needs.

Our thoughtfully crafted tours are designed to showcase the beauty of the islands while allowing you the freedom to immerse yourself in the natural world or simply enjoy the serenity of the moment.

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience where daily yoga practice meets extraordinary exploration in one of the world’s most remarkable places. Rediscover your sense of peace, connect with nature, and experience the magic of the Galapagos like never before.

Our Instructors

Our team of yoga instructors in the Galapagos brings together a diverse range of experiences and passions, all united by a shared love for yoga and the natural world. Living in one of the most stunning and biodiverse places on Earth, each of our instructors is deeply connected to the island’s unique energy, and they infuse that into every class, whether you’re doing sunrise flow by the ocean or a grounding session in the island's lush landscapes.

Our instructors offer a wide range of expertise and teaching styles, creating a nurturing, diverse, and supportive community for your yoga journey. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned practitioner, you'll find a welcoming space to explore your practice in the incredible surroundings of the Galapagos.

Accommodation

Locally-Owned Hotel Accommodations

Throughout your stay, you’ll enjoy comfort and island hospitality at locally-owned hotels, such as Hotel Fiesta on Santa Cruz Island and La Casa de Marita on Isabela Island—or similar charming accommodations. These thoughtfully selected hotels reflect the character of the islands, offering warm service, convenient locations, and a welcoming atmosphere that supports the local community.

Dining

Flexible Dining – Eat Like a Local

We believe one of the best ways to experience the Galapagos is through its food—which is why we offer flexible dining options rather than a fixed meal plan.

Breakfasts are included daily, and lunch is provided on all full-day tours. For dinner, you'll have the freedom to explore and dine at local restaurants of your choice. Whether you're looking for fresh-caught seafood, Ecuadorian specialties, or a casual beachside meal, we’ll happily point you to our favorite spots—from budget-friendly to upscale.

This approach supports local businesses and gives you a more authentic (and delicious!) taste of the islands.

On your way to Puerto Ayora, your adventure truly begins with a guided tour of the Santa Cruz Highlands, where you’ll experience the islands' rich biodiversity and geological wonders.

Tour Highlights:

  • Los Gemelos Craters: Explore the impressive twin craters, massive geological formations created by the collapse of volcanic magma chambers.

  • Giant Galapagos Tortoises: Observe these iconic, endangered creatures roaming freely in their natural habitat. A truly unforgettable experience!

Tour Gear:
Since the highlands can be a bit damp and uneven, please bring closed-toe shoes (ideally hiking boots) and a rain jacket or umbrella. If needed, boots are available upon request. The terrain is mostly moderate, with light walking on even surfaces, some stairs, and a few muddy paths, so you’ll be comfortable throughout the journey.

After this unforgettable journey, you’ll meet with your Galapagos Alternative representative at your hotel, where you’ll have time to settle in and prepare for the rest of your retreat.

Let us take care of the details while you immerse yourself in the natural beauty and wonder of the Galapagos Islands. From the moment you arrive, every step of your journey is crafted to be as seamless, relaxing, and enriching as possible.

  • Tortuga Bay Beach: Arrive at the wide, stunning beach where white sands stretch endlessly and marine iguanas sunbathe along the rocks. The first section of the beach has strong undertow and currents, so swimming is not advised there.

  • Safe Swimming & Kayaking: Continue walking to the calm, sheltered bay at the far end—ideal for a refreshing dip or even kayaking (kayak rentals are approximately $20 and availability may vary). Paddle through calm waters as you look for marine life, including rays, sea turtles, and colorful fish.
