Our journey will take us to three vibrant destinations—Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi—each offering a distinct glimpse into Ghanaian life and culture. As with travel anywhere, infrastructure can occasionally be unpredictable. While it doesn't happen often, there may be brief moments when the electricity goes out and a short lapse in time as the generator kicks in before power is restored. Similarly, though it is extremely unlikely, there is a small chance that water flow could be temporarily interrupted. We want to be clear: these situations are not expected to happen, but we want you to be aware and prepared, just in case.

Welcome to Ghana! Upon arrival at Accra International Airport (ACC), you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel to check in, settle, and refresh after your journey.

Today's schedule will remain flexible to accommodate various arrival times. The only real requirement? That you arrive safely—and ready for the experience of a lifetime.

For those who may be interested in hair braiding or spa services, a la carte services can be provided upon request.

With breakfast to go, we will set off as our journey through Ghana begins with a deeply moving visit to Assin Manso and Cape Coast, where we will confront the powerful and emotional history of the transatlantic slave trade while also embracing the resilience and royalty of our ancestors.

In Assin Manso, we will visit the River of the Last Bath, where captured Africans took their last bath before being sold and shipped across the Atlantic.

Standing at this sacred site, we honor the memory of those who endured unimaginable hardships, reclaim their legacy as descendants of kings and queens, and are called all the more to get busy living in the freedom they could not.

The river served as a poignant beginning to our visit to Cape Coast, tracing the very path once taken by the ancestors of African Diasporans.

At Cape Coast Castle, we’ll step into a space where history's sorrowful shadows meet the enduring light of remembrance. As we move through the castle’s dungeons and stand before the infamous “Door of No Return,” we confront a painful chapter of the past. Yet, within these walls, we also honor the resilience, courage, and unyielding spirit that continue to define generations descended from those who passed through this place.

Throughout our trip, you will continue to absorb the impact of the tumultuously trod road of our ancestors, and be reminded that you descend from resilient, persevering people who found ways to get busy living against all odds.

As a lifelong reminder of that truth, we are pleased to share one of the most unforgettable moments of the journey—taking part in a Ghanaian naming ceremony. Led by a village chief or queen mother, this sacred tradition will welcome you into the community in a way few travelers ever experience. We'll start at the National Museum for an insightful introduction to Ghana's rich cultural landscape, exploring the diverse tribal traditions woven into the fabric of the nation.
From there, we head to the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP), a moving tribute to the father of Ghana's independence and a moment to reflect on the resilience and pride that still shine through the nation today.

Next, we wander the sun-soaked streets of Jamestown, one of Accra's oldest and most storied neighborhoods. Here, colorful fishing boats bob along the shore, historic lighthouses stand watch over the coastline, and vibrant street art tells stories of struggle and triumph—a living reminder that Ghana's spirit runs through its people as much as its history.

We'll round out the day with a visit to the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre for Pan African Culture before heading to local fabric shops, where you can browse vibrant, locally-woven textiles and get measured for custom-made pieces by skilled Ghanaian tailors. From there, we continue to Asenema Falls, where the highlight of the day awaits: the Waterfall Massage Experience. Performed by skilled local therapists right beside the falls, this is rejuvenation like you've never experienced—the sound of rushing water setting the scene as tension melts away under expert hands. After your massage, take a little time to cool off in the water if you'd like, but don't rush it. If you are ending your time in Ghana, you should plan to depart from Accra International Airport in Accra, Ghana (Flight Details - TBC).  

After breakfast, spend the day doing last minute packing. Later you will check out of the hotel and be transferred to the airport for check-in and final departure back home.

We will head out early in the morning to catch a flight to the Ashanti Kingdom! After breakfast, we'll head to Kotoka International Airport to board a flight to Kumasi. Upon arrival, we will visit the Manhyia Palace Museum, a historic site located within Manhyia Palace, first established in 1925 as a private residence for the Asantehene Agyeman Prempeh I—a fitting introduction to a kingdom rich in history and legacy.

Additionally, you may try your hand (and foot) at kente weaving, as we tour and take part in a demonstration at Bonwire Kente Village, the original home of the vibrant fabric that has come to symbolize Ghana around the world.

If weaving isn't your artistic calling, perhaps creating colored dye and stamping fabric will be more your speed. Let's find out together through a tour and demonstration at Ntonso Craft Village—home of the Adinkra stampers.

If time permits, we may tour the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site, where the Golden Stool of the Asanteman famously descended into the lap of King Osei Tutu I. The site was foretold by Okomfo Anokye to become a place of healing for millions. We'll also pay a visit to the Nana Prempeh II Museum and the Kumasi Cultural Centre, rounding out a day steeped in history, culture, and heritage.

We'll take the last flight back, returning to Accra late in the evening—tired, but full from a day spent getting busy living.

Nkyinkim Museum & Aqua Safari Resort

Embark on a meaningful cultural experience with a day trip to the Nkyinkim Museum in Ada, Ghana—an open-air museum where art, history, and heritage come together to honor the resilience of the African Diaspora.

After your museum tour, we'll trade reflection for relaxation with a boat cruise along the Volta River, taking in the calm waters and scenic views as we make our way to Aqua Safari Resort. It's the perfect transition—time to breathe, unwind, and let the day shift gears.

The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at Aqua Safari Resort, set against the peaceful backdrop of Ada.

You'll start with an energetic introduction to Ghanaian drumming and dance, led by local performers who will teach you the rhythms and movements at the heart of the country's celebrations. From there, we'll shift from rhythm to flavor with a Bioko chocolate-making experience. Ghana is one of the world's top cocoa producers, and here you'll get an inside look at how that cocoa transforms into chocolate—from bean to bar.
