About this trip

Dreams do come true!! Join Nancy Wind, Certified Health Coach and founder of PeaksandPoses for a summer outdoor adventure in one of the most beautiful places in the United States. PeaksandPoses is going further west this summer to explore the wilderness of Glacier National Park, otherwise known as the Crown of the continent. Rugged mountains, pristine forests, spectacular views and over 25 glaciers await us. Glacier has been known as a hiker’s paradise and our memories and photos will reflect this. This trip will revolve around hiking, yoga, connecting and allowing ourselves to spend time in nature to transform us in ways we don't even know yet! We'll hike daily and practice yoga, either at home or in the park.  We'll also find time to meditate, explore the area around Whitefish and chill out by the river or our fire pit. 


Oh yea! This is gonna be the trip of our new decade!!!


Accommodations

I always try to find the most magnificent homes. This summer our contemporary home is in the town of Whitefish (a well-known ski town) and nestled at the edge of Glacier National Park. Our home covers 2,200 square feet and is situated on 70 acres of open fields and on the bank of the Stillwater River. We also have expansive views of the mountains. Bedroom occupancy varies and one bedroom has an attached bath.  Our home has a fully stocked kitchen with an open floor plan. This year our stove sits on an island so we can hang and watch Majid our chef, cook if that interests you.  Our home also hosts a common room and an in home theater. It is situated on a river that we access from our private dock where we can fish, swim or boat (we have a raft with an electric motor!!). We can also relax in our secluded outdoor hot tub (becoming a trademark of PeaksandPoses’ retreats) or make some campfires in the fire pit. 


Dining

All of our meals will be prepared on sight by our chef Majid. Lunch will be taken on the trail. Our meals are plant based with inspiration and creativity from the wisdom of Ayurveda and middle eastern influence. We will also focus on locally sourced food. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

Hiking

There will be daily advance beginner to moderate hikes. You should expect at least 5  miles of hiking a day. Surfaces will vary with rolling or mountainous terrain with some steep ascents/descents and uneven trails. Elevation gain will also vary. 


Trip Cancellations and Refunds

I know this is a common question people think about when signing up for a trip. It can be a big expense and you have the best intentions but  somehow it's not going to work out. I want  you to know that my heart and soul goes into planning our trips and I have payment deadlines to meet. Also,  as it gets closer to the retreat it's challenging to fill your spot.  For these reasons, I have established the following cancellation/refund policy.  Please make sure you can commit to this date or just sign up as it gets closer to the date (just cross your fingers that there is room). 


1. With notice of at least 90 days prior to the scheduled arrival date, you will be entitled to the full amount already paid minus your deposit of $500.

2. With notice of at least 60 days prior to the scheduled arrival date, you will be entitled to a refund less 50% of the total cost already paid.

3. With notice of 31 days from the scheduled arrival date, you will be entitled to a refund less 75% of the total cost already paid. 

4. With notice of 30 days or less prior to arrival date, there will be no money refunded.

You will be staying in a shared room that has one bunk bed. You will be sleeping on the top bunk in a twin size bed. There is a full shared bath on the same floor.

Perfect for a single person that wants to pamper themself. This room has a king size bed with a 10' picture window that overlooks the river to the south and the Big Mountains to the north. Adjoining the master bedroom is a full private bathroom that includes a water closet, shower and separate garden tub. The master bath also has a small balcony. Email me about the cost of this room for a couple.

I am a four season peak bagger in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. I am exploring the Adirondacks of New York as well as Colorado 14'ers. My longest backpacking trip was 18 days on the John Muir Trail with a grand finale hiking Mt. Whitney! I am a Certified Health Coach and yoga instructor leading people to uplevel their health and reinvent themself. I am the most content outside hiking with my friends. I enjoy staying active through yoga, biking, x-country skiing and cooking seasonal plant based food.

The Self-Care retreat was a wonderful getaway. Setu is a beautiful setting, and a lovely home away from home run by a devoted couple. Nancy and Cynthia lead a well-balanced retreat that included meditation, yoga, a choice of hikes, shared meals, optional massages, and 'me time.' Everything was considered optional, so each person could choose their own pace. It was nice to meet a great group of women and have a chance to chat and get to know one another, but also have time to settle in a quiet corner to read or relax. This was my second trip lead by Nancy, and it was as great as the first.

We had an amazing time with Nancy and Peaks & Poses. This was my third trip with the group. It’s my favorite way to travel. I just show up and everything else is taken care of. Food is delicious, hikes well planned and other participants are always a joy!

I had a wonderful trip to Shenandoah! I loved our cozy cabins, our meals were delicious and plentiful.
