Geneva Lake has been the summer destination for the rich and famous for years. With a train coming from both Milwaukee and Chicago, it was possible to easily escape the summer heat in the city yet still be a part of 'society'. Some, in fact, had grander homes on Geneva Lake then they did back in the city.

There is path at the edge of the water that is deemed public. If this path runs through your property, you must allow access for the public to walk-on. Some have improved upon the path for those using it, others not so much., 

This path is a huge draw to walk/hike by the waters edge and catch a glimpse of how the other half lives too. 

It can get a bit crowded on weekends in the summer, so that is why we are suggesting we do part of the path today. A two-mile swath on the West End offers a manageable stroll, lovely views, and passes landmarks such as the Abbey Resort and Fontana Spa and popular local eateries like Chuck's or Pier 290 where we could grab lunch by the water.

Don't want to hike? Car shuttle will be available to join hikers/walkers for lunch.

Geneva Lake Shore Path

This lovely 21-mile walking path, around Geneva Lake, takes pedestrians by impressive homes and quiet lakeside neighborhoods. Can be hiked all in one day or broken down into more manageable portions. More interested in nature then mansions? There are portions that are more rustic and pass through several different types of terrain you may be interested in.

You simply cannot come to Lake Geneva and not go on the Mailboat Tour! On this morning tour we will hear about some of the history of the cities development, the different communities and homes on the lake, stories of the business tycoons that summered here and, oh yeah, watch as the deckhands deliver the mail too. Always exciting!

Experience Our Unique Mail Delivery by Boat! 

There are only a handful of places left in the country where mail is still delivered by boat and none with a more exciting and scenic tour than this! With over 100 years of mail service, we still deliver mail to about 75 homes around the lake on a daily basis from June 15 – September 15.

The Walworth departs promptly at 10:00 a.m. every day with a load of passengers, mail, and a very unique mail person. The Mailboat returns to the Riviera Docks after its 2½-hour cruise around the entire lake.

After the mailboat tour, there are plenty of options. Hang out on the beach, walk around the shops, grab a beverage at one of the lakeside pubs, take a nap in your tent.... https://www.visitlakegeneva.com/

This lakeside town transforms as night falls. Restaurants, pubs, beer gardens and more. This evening we can 'hit the town', grab some good food, find some live music, beer garden and/or place to dance! 

After a night on the town, what better way to spend a Sunday than Brunch! Especially a bottomless champagne/mimosa brunch at the Historic Baker House right on the shore of Geneva Lake. If brunch does not work then, we can do a 'Family' lunch or dinner (included) - whatever fits in with what everyone wants to do!

Maybe we rent scooters and tool around the area? Or. flop on the beach for the better part of the day. Horse back riding? Golf? Rent water toys of some sort? We can work together to determine what everyone wants to do and make it happen!

After breakfast, we unfortunately have to leave our glamping site behind and go about our way. Depending upon schedules we may be able to 'go out' for our last breakfast, or we can check out and then have a lunch before we all depart...
