Ghana is ready. The roads are alive. The students are waiting. And somewhere along a long, sun-drenched stretch of red-dirt road — with a community cheering and a child's face lighting up at the sight of a brand-new bicycle — you will understand exactly why you came.
Be There. Give Back. Be Part of It.
Where Witnessing Becomes Impact
Imagine swapping your everyday routine for something extraordinary — the sights, sounds, and soul of one of West Africa's most vibrant nations, experienced not from a saddle, but from the heart of the action. This is not simply a trip to watch a cycling event. It is a journey of connection, culture, and genuine community impact, set against the living, breathing backdrop of Ghana.
Developed by Global RideAway and REC Advisory Group and proudly supported in principle by the Ghana Cycling Federation, this carefully crafted experience brings together unforgettable moments with a mission that extends far beyond the finish line — and you don't need to ride a single kilometer to be a meaningful part of it.
This is adventure with a conscience. This is Ghana.
The Mission Behind the Miles BEEP — Bicycle Education Empowerment Program
Witness a Donation. Watch a Life Change.
At the heart of this entire experience is a simple, powerful truth: a bicycle can change a child's world.
In rural parts of Ghana, the distance between a student's home and their school can mean the difference between attending class and staying behind. Long walks on unpaved roads. Hours lost every day. Exhaustion that arrives before the school day even begins. These are the quiet barriers that limit potential and widen inequality — and they are barriers most of us will never have to face.
The Bicycle Education Empowerment Program (BEEP) exists to remove those barriers, one bicycle at a time. As a spectator and supporter of the Ghana experience, you will witness bikes being donated directly to students in rural Ghanaian communities — not from a distant charity, but from the collective effort of a group of people who came to Ghana, rode its roads, and chose to give something back to the country that welcomed them.
You will be in the room — or rather, on the roadside — when it happens. That moment belongs to you too.
This is what makes the RideAway: Ghana experience unlike anything else in the world. The riders ride. But the story is shared by everyone who shows up.
This trip includes some walking, long drives on winding roads, and navigating through busy areas, so travelers should be prepared for a bit of adventure — planned and unplanned.
Those with significant mobility challenges may find it difficult to manage this itinerary, but we will do everything in our power to make activities as accessible as possible.

Welcome to Ghana! Upon arrival at Accra International Airport (ACC), you'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel to check in, settle, and refresh after your journey.

When the sun dips below the horizon, Accra doesn't slow down — it ignites. This is your initiation into one of West Africa's most electrifying cities, where colonial-era architecture collides with modern energy, and every street corner pulses with a rhythm that gets into your bones before you even know what hit you.
Forget everything you thought a city night out looked like. Accra after dark is something else entirely. The warm blaze of street vendors and roadside chop bars lights up the city like a carnival that never got the memo to end. The air is thick with woodsmoke, spice, and possibility.
From the buzzing, neon-lit terraces of Osu to the raw, soulful heartbeat of Jamestown, you will move through a city absolutely drunk on its own brilliance. Cold Club Beers appear in your hand. Highlife and Afrobeats spill out of every doorway and drag you inside. Smoky roadside grills are feeding the city well past midnight and you will absolutely be eating. Dancing is not optional.
This is not a gentle introduction. This is Accra at full volume — unapologetic, infectious, and completely alive — and it will ruin every other city night out for you, forever.
Highlights:
Full immersion into Accra's most iconic and electric neighborhoods after dark
Highlife bars, Afrobeats dancefloors, and street food that hits different at midnight
The kind of night that becomes a story you'll tell for years...unless, of course, what happens in Ghana stays in Ghana!

This journey is more than just a tour of cities and landmarks—it’s a deep dive into the heartbeat of Ghanaian culture. From the bold, comforting flavors of dishes like jollof rice, kebabs, and groundnut soup, to the sounds of street music and the stories in every corner of the market, prepare for a full-sensory adventure.
We’ll visit the W.E.B. Du Bois Centre for Pan African Culture before taking a trip to local fabric shops, where you can peruse vibrant, locally-woven textiles and, later, get measured for custom-made pieces by skilled Ghanaian tailors. Whether you're dreaming of a bold kente jacket or a flowy Ankara dress, this is your chance to take home a truly personal piece of Ghana.
Then, rest up for a lively Welcome Reception.
Akwaaba. You are welcome.
In Ghana, welcome is not just a word — it is a feeling, a gesture, an embrace. And tonight, we are wrapping you in all of it.
The roads can wait. The miles will come. Before the sound of a community cheering fills your chest with something you didn't know you needed — there is this moment.
This is your first taste of Ghana's legendary spirit of welcome, and we are leaning all the way in.
Step into an evening alive with music, color, and the electric energy of a group of extraordinary people about to do something extraordinary together. Let the rhythm move you. Let a handcrafted cocktail — kissed with the bold, bright flavors of West Africa — find its way into your hand. Graze, laugh, wander, and when the music pulls you, let it. Capture the moment at our photo station, because you will want to remember the night it all began.
This is your welcome. THIS is Akwaaba.
Around you are the cyclists, dreamers, spectators, and changemakers who will share every sunrise, every red-dirt road, and every triumphant finish line with you across Ghana. Look around the room — these are your people now.
And woven into every laugh, every clinking glass, and every beat of the evening is the mission that brought you all here: the Bicycle Education Empowerment Program.
Ghana is ready. The roads are waiting. The students are eagerly anticipating.
But tonight? Tonight belongs to you!
Akwaaba. Welcome home.

The Signature Ride — Witness Something Unforgettable
This is it. The moment the entire week has been pointing toward. The ride that separates a great vacation from a story you will tell for the rest of your life.
The Signature Ride is journey through the soul of Ghana — and as a spectator, you have a front-row seat to something genuinely extraordinary.
Picture it: riders pushing through rolling Ghanaian terrain that has no mercy for tired legs, emerging from climbs to find sweeping rural vistas that stretch further than the eye can follow. And then the communities — the people lining the route, cheering with an electricity and generosity of spirit that has been known to bring hardened cyclists to tears. This is not a backdrop. This is Ghana showing up for every single rider on that road.
What you are watching is not a race. It is something bigger than that. It is a collective act of commitment — dozens of cyclists who chose to come to this country not as tourists passing through, but as people fully invested in what their effort can change. Because every kilometer completed out on that road translates directly into a bicycle for a student in rural Ghana through the BEEP program. A bicycle that rewrites the geography of a child's entire life. The riders carry that with them. You will feel it.
Get to the finish line early. You will want to see every single rider come through it.

Having reclaimed your place within the continuum of African history, it is time to pay our respects at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, dedicated to Ghana’s founding father and first president. This beautifully landscaped national monument offers a powerful glimpse into Ghana’s journey to independence and honors a legacy that helped shape not only a nation, but the broader African continent.
We’ll then make our way to the Accra Art Centre, where you can test your bargaining skills in a lively marketplace brimming with handcrafted treasures, vibrant textiles, and local artistry. Don’t worry if the negotiations get spirited—our team will be nearby, ready to jump in, help you secure the perfect find, and perhaps applaud your haggling finesse.
After the market adventure, you’ll return to refresh, recharge, and prepare for one of the trip’s signature social experiences: the Celebratory White Party.
You showed up — and you changed lives.
You didn't have to be here. But you chose Ghana. You chose impact. You chose to be part of something bigger than yourself, and that matters just as much as every mile ridden. Tonight, we celebrate all of it — together, on the sand, in white, with the ocean at our backs and the whole continent in our hearts.
This is not just a party. It's a standing ovation for everyone who said yes to adventure, yes to impact, yes to Ghana. And you are absolutely part of that story.
We're bringing the spirit of Ghana straight to the shoreline for a beachfront White Party — equal parts celebration, elevation, and pure unapologetic JOY. You showed up for Ghana. Now Ghana shows up for you.
DRESS THE PART. All white everything. Breezy linen, flowing goddess, crisp elegance — show up like you just conquered West Africa, because you did. Kente accents, bold jewelry, headwraps? Absolutely. Come dressed to be remembered.
EAT LIKE ROYALTY. Bold, aromatic, soul-deep West African flavors that honor the communities who cheered us all forward. Every bite is a tribute. Every flavor is a memory.
SIP SOMETHING SPECIAL. Handcrafted West African-inspired cocktails, built for this moment. These are victory drinks. Cheers accordingly.
THE MUSIC WILL MOVE YOU. Afrobeats. Highlife. Afro-fusion. The kind of music that doesn't ask you to dance — it commands it. The soundtrack of Ghana, rolling across the water from sundown to the final toast.
STRIKE YOUR POSE. Immersive African-inspired photo experiences worthy of every single moment. Gather your crew. Find your light. These are the photos you'll show people for years.
You chose Ghana. You gave back. Now walk into this celebration like you own it — because tonight, you absolutely do.
White attire required. Extraordinary energy mandatory.

Prepare yourselves with an overnight bag; we return the following day.
After breakfast, we will set off as our journey through Ghana continues with a deeply moving visit to Assin Manso and Cape Coast, where we will confront the powerful and emotional history of the transatlantic slave trade while also embracing the resilience and royalty of our ancestors. In Assin Manso, we will visit the River of the Last Bath, where captured Africans took their last bath before being sold and shipped across the Atlantic. Standing at this sacred site, we honor the memory of those who endured unimaginable hardships and reclaim their legacy as descendants of kings and queens.
The River is a prelude to visiting Cape Coast Slave Castle, as we will be following the route taken by the ancestors of many African Diasporans.
We’ll explore the haunting beauty of Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the darkness of history meets the light of remembrance. The castle’s dungeons and the “Door of No Return” remind us of the painful past, but as we walk through these historic spaces, we also celebrate the resilience, dignity, and strength that have endured through generations.
Lunch will be provided.
Dinner on your own.
Kakum National Park offers an unforgettable encounter with Ghana’s lush tropical rainforest. Located just outside of Cape Coast, the park is best known for its iconic canopy walkway—a suspended bridge system that stretches high above the forest floor, offering breathtaking views and a thrilling perspective of the treetops.
Guided by local experts, you'll learn about the park’s rich biodiversity, including rare plant species, butterflies, and the elusive forest elephants that roam the dense undergrowth.
The walk through Kakum isn't just a nature excursion—it's an immersive experience into one of West Africa’s most important conservation areas.
Whether you're an adventure seeker or a nature lover, a visit to Kakum is both exhilarating and enlightening—connecting you to the beauty, serenity, and ecological significance of Ghana’s wild side.

After breakfast and hotel check out, we will visit to Elmina Castle, one of the oldest European structures in sub-Saharan Africa, originally built by the Portuguese in 1482. Perched along Ghana’s scenic coastline, the castle offers a striking contrast between its serene exterior and the powerful stories held within its walls.
During the tour, guests will explore the castle’s courtyards, governor’s quarters, and the haunting underground dungeons where thousands of enslaved Africans were held. A visit to the infamous “Door of No Return” provides a deeply moving moment of reflection, marking the final passage for those forced into the transatlantic slave trade.
This experience is both educational and transformative—offering insight into Ghana’s historical role in global trade, the impact of colonialism, and the enduring legacy of resilience. Visitors leave with a deeper understanding of the past and its connection to the present.
During our trip back to Accra, you will continue to absorb the impact of the tumultuously trod road of our ancestors and be reminded that you are of resilient and persevering people.
As a lifelong reminder- we are pleased to share one of the most unforgettable moments of the journey- taking part in a Ghanaian naming ceremony. Led by a village chief/queen mother, this sacred tradition will welcome you into the community in a way that few travelers ever experience. Stand alongside one another and village locals as you receive your Ghanaian name, symbolizing your connection to this land, your acceptance into the community, and your bond with the people you’ll never forget. It’s more than a ceremony—it’s a homecoming.
Snacks will be provided.
Dinner on your own.

We will head out early in the morning to catch a flight to Ashanti Kingdom!
After breakfast, we will head to Kotoka International Airport to board a flight to Kumasi. Upon arrival, we will visit The Manhyia Palace Museum. The museum is a historic museum located in Kumasi and situated within Manhyia Palace first established in 1925 as a private residence for the Asantehene Agyemang Prempeh I.
Additionally, you may try your hand (and foot) at kente weaving, as we engage in a tour and demonstration at the Bonwire Kente Village; known as the original home of the colorful fabric.
If weaving isn't your artistic calling, perhaps creating colored dye and stamping fabric will be more your speed. Let's find out together through a tour and demonstration at Ntonso Craft Village—Adinkra Stampers.
If time permits, we may tour the Okomfo Anokye sword sight where the golden stool of the Asanteman descended into the laps of King Osei Tutu I. The sight was predicted by Okomfo Anokye to be a healing place for millions of people. As well as paying a visit to the Nana Prempeh II museum and Kumasi cultural Centre.
We will return to Accra in the evening.
Lunch will be provided.
