You will see a sign with your name right after migration. They will let you know where your luggage will be and how to exit the airport. Right outside the airport door your guide will have another sign. We will implement all safe protocols.

Your private van with guide driver will take you into todays expedition. First visit the Irazu Volcano. The word “Irazú” is actually derivative of an Indigenous word which means “thunder and earthquake mountain.” This volcano is active, although it has been many years since the last time it erupted.  It is the highest active volcano in Costa Rica, as well as the largest in the country, standing at 11,260 feet tall and 500 square kilometers at its base.

After learning and experiencing this amazing natural park you will head to the Cloud Forest. First Lunch at “Chespiritos” a local Soda where you will have lunch with locals that drive every day from the South of the country into the capital city.  After lunch continue to Hotel Savegre to check in and enjoy dinner.

This morning you will have a guided walk on the 400-hectare Private Nature Reserve which is part of the Hotel’s property. 

The Hotel is located 9 km from Los Quetzales National Park, Hotel Savegre is the ideal platform to explore the imposing beauty of the Tropical Cloud Forest of Costa Rica.
