After settling in and taking a moment to unwind, the group will gather in the evening for a beautiful welcome dinner—an opportunity to connect, get to know one another, and set the tone for the incredible adventure ahead.
Experience the charming town of Antigua as you dive into its rich history and vibrant culture. Start the day with a guided walking tour through the cobblestone streets, colorful colonial buildings, and centuries-old ruins that tell the story of this UNESCO World Heritage city.
Afterward, you’ll enjoy a fresh, farm-to-table lunch at Caoba Farms, a local favorite. In the afternoon, hop on mountain e-bikes for a scenic ride to a nearby coffee farm, where you'll learn the art of Guatemalan coffee production from bean to brew.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of Mayan tradition during this unforgettable day in Antigua. You’ll begin with a hands-on textile workshop with Luna Zorra, where you will discover the ancient art of natural plant dyes and Mayan weaving and walk away with a beautiful apron!
Then, you’ll gather for a private luncheon with Wild Daughter at a serene location. Then the rest of the afternoon is yours to wander, shop, and soak in the charm of Antigua at your own pace!
Embark on a BUCKETLIST adventure—an overnight trek up Volcán Acatenango, where you'll witness the raw power of nature and sleep under a blanket of stars. This challenging, but rewarding hike covers approximately 12 miles round-trip with an altitude gain of over 5,000 feet, culminating at a breathtaking summit elevation of 13,045 feet (3,976 meters).
As you ascend through farmlands, cloud forests, and alpine terrain, you'll be met with sweeping views and the thrilling sight (and sound!) of nearby Volcán Fuego, which frequently erupts (about every 15-20 minutes!).
Once you arrive at basecamp, you’ll have the option to take on an additional hike up to the saddle of Fuego for an even closer vantage point (approx 1.5-2 miles round trip and 1,000 feet of gain). This hike is more challenging, but incredibly rewarding—bringing you face-to-face with the raw power of the volcano as you watch glowing eruptions light up the sky and hear the deep rumble echo through the mountains.
That evening you will sleep at basecamp with clear views of Fuego erupting before your eyes. Then the next morning, you will get up early to summit Acatenango for sunrise before hiking back down the mountain later that morning.
Cozy, comfortable gear and warm meals will provided by local guides. For those who prefer a less strenuous climb, horseback assistance is available for an additional fee. You can also pay a porter to carry your gear if you prefer.
Whether on foot or horseback, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will push your limits, but leave you with the ultimate reward--absolute awe of the earth’s wild and raw beauty. This hike is beyond EPIC and will be the highlight of your trip in Guatemala!
You will conclude the overnight hike to Acatenango by noon, and then be transferred to Lake Atitlan. Nestled in the Guatemalan highlands just 2.5 hours from Antigua, Lake Atitlán is a breathtaking crater lake surrounded by volcanoes and vibrant Mayan villages.
Often called one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, it’s a place where nature, culture, and serenity collide—offering stunning views, rich traditions, and a peaceful escape. Upon arrival to Hotel San Buenaventura de Atitlan, you will have time to relax by the pool, go in the sauna, and take in the views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes.
Today you’ll explore some of the most vibrant and culturally rich villages surrounding Lake Atitlán, each offering a unique glimpse into local life and tradition. We’ll visit San Juan La Laguna, known for its colorful streets, artisan cooperatives, and traditional weaving practices; Santiago Atitlán, a historic lakeside village deeply rooted in Mayan culture; and Santa Catarina Palopó, famous for its striking painted homes and stunning lake views.
Midday, you’ll gather for a truly special culinary experience at Deleite Ancestral Experiencia Gastronómica Tz’utujil, where you’ll enjoy a beautifully prepared meal rooted in local ingredients and Mayan traditions.
Later in the day, you’ll have the option to participate in a traditional Mayan shaman ceremony (for an additional fee). This deeply spiritual experience offers a powerful opportunity for reflection, intention-setting, and connection—to yourself, to the culture, and to the energy of this sacred place.
You’ll begin the day early with a sunrise paddleboard experience on the calm, glassy waters of Lake Atitlán—an incredibly peaceful and grounding way to start the morning as the sun rises over the surrounding volcanoes.
After breakfast, you’ll head to Reserva Atitlán, where you will enjoy an easy, scenic hike through lush rainforest trails and hanging bridges. You’ll also have the option to take on the zipline and ropes course (optional add-on), offering incredible views as you soar through the jungle canopy.

You’ll close out the day with a truly special experience—a sound bath and guided meditation at Eagle’s Nest, perched high above the lake. With panoramic views and a deeply peaceful setting, it’s the perfect way to relax, reflect, and fully take in the magic of this place.
On the final day, you will leave Lake Atitlan and head back to Guatemala City (approx a 3 hour drive). *Please plan your departure flight for after 1PM.
For those doing the optional 2 day add-on, once in Guatemala City you will take a short, domestic flight to Flores, and then head to the Jungle Lodge Tikal Hotel, a beautiful hotel inside the jungle just outside of Tikal.

You’ll explore the ancient Mayan city of Tikal with a guide in the quiet of the morning, climbing towering temples and wandering through majestic ruins that once formed one of the most powerful kingdoms in Mesoamerica.
After a morning of exploration, you’ll return to Jungle Lodge Tikal to relax, unwind by the pool, and soak in the peaceful rhythm of the surrounding rainforest.
