You need previous surf experience to take this class.

This is a 2 hour long class.
Our instructor to student ratio is 2 on 1.
Before entering the water our instructors will assess your technique and your previous knowledge. This will be followed by a quick land practice and explanation of the objective for the day which will be tailored to meet each participant's needs.

Some of the things that you will learn in this class:

Passing the breaking waves and getting to the line-up
Positioning on the line-up
Proper technique to turtle turn or duck dive (depending on your skills)
Paddling technique
Timing (when to start paddling for a wave and when to stand up)
Positioning on the board (and proper stands for creating speed)
Turning (how to ride the wave sideways)
Basic bottom turns
Trimming and Carving turns
Surfing etiquette

Intermediate Surf Lesson

In this class we will evaluate your previous knowledge, whether you took a beginner class with us before or if you already had previous skills. We make an evaluation for each participant and we will adjust this class depending on the level of surfing and what they like to learn or improve.

Some of the things you will learn:

How to make it to the line up.

Timing (when to start paddling for a wave and when to stand up).

Paddling techniques.

Turning/Carving (how to ride the wave sideways and how to make small turns).

Turtle roll (technique to get past the waves)

Surfing etiquette.

These guys are the best! Our teacher Jose was super knowledgeable, patient and an all around great guy. He had us standing up and riding waves in no time. If you’re looking to take surf lessons in Dominical go see the guys, they’ll take great care of you.

Instructors were amazing and gave really practical steps & coaching to get up on the board. I have never surfed before and I was able to get surfing in less than 1 hour!

Such a fun experience, I genuinely didn’t want to get out of the water!! The staff was so warm and welcoming, and we had the pleasure of having Jose as our instructor & Martina as our photographer! Would highly recommend this for beginners, I’ll be back :)

Dominical Surf School was an excellent choice to get advance lessons for my two children who are just beginning to compete in Surf Competitions. Spencer and Atrea gave instruction in the surf while taping the session. In between "heats" the video was reviewed and the kids were given pointers to work on in the next "heat". Lots of lessons learned. Great experience.
