An African Safari Company by Local Tanzanians

Reviews

I want to tell you about the extraordinary trip my mother and I took with the safari and cultural tour company Lendimi African Safaris. We spent 11 days in Tanzania (including Zanzibar) on a cultural and game drive tour/safari. On this trip - we had the privilege to meet 4 distinct tribes who live traditionally as their ancestors did, toured the northern Tanzanian capital of Arusha, went on 2 game drives in both the majestic Serengeti and stunningly beautiful Ngorongoro crater, and spent time at Olduvai Gorge (the cradle of civilization). We stayed at phenomenal lodges (arranged by Lendimi) throughout northern Tanzania. The service at these lodges was impeccable. I’m a foodie and the dishes at each lodge were delicious! I ate SO MUCH FOOD! Our guide, Emmanuel, was an absolute professional! As first time visitors to Tanzania, my mother and I felt very looked after by him. He is the best! He is kind, knowledgeable, resourceful, and thoughtful. As two women traveling alone - Emmanuel made us feel very safe. This is very important. Let me add he is an expert driver for rough roads you’ll find throughout the game drives. The highlight for me is the cultural component of Lendimi’s tours. Meeting tribe members who live traditional hunter gatherer lifestyles was so impactful and life changing. We were able to fellowship and learn from and about them. Sadly, many safari companies do NOT offer this opportunity. Lendimi does offer the chance to spend time on tribal lands. You should not miss this opportunity. Lendimi (comprised of Amana, Nelson, P.J., and Emmanuel) gave my mom and me the ABSOLUTE experience of a lifetime. It is locally owned by Tanzanians themselves. For this reason, I believe no other safari company operating in Tanzania can provide the kind of experience Lendimi can. The cultural component alone with the access we were granted to hunter gatherer tribes is mind blowing. Lendimi has clearly nurtured relationships with these tribes that other safari companies cannot and have not. I CANNOT recommend Lendimi highly enough. You will be well taken care of should you choose to tour with this company! I encourage you all to visit Tanzania and experience it through and with the guides of Lendimi!

Thank you, Lendimi, for an unforgettable four-day safari in the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. Imma Massawe was the perfect guide and we saw not only the Big Five (lion, rhino, elephant, water buffalo and leopard) but also the incredible wildebeest and zebra Great Migration. Not to mention crocs, hippos, cheetahs, hyenas and of course many giraffes, zebras, ostriches and on and on! If you are looking for the #BestSafari experience in Tanzania, the expertise, meticulous planning, close attention to detail, insights into Tanzanian culture and history, and genuine human connection of a small family-run company like Lendimi can't be beat.
