Relax and enjoy the magnificent natural surroundings of Kuang Si Waterfalls. The water tumbles down and cascades gently in to several cool, clear pools where you can enjoy a refreshing swim. Adventurous can walk up the steep path to the top of the falls for a spectacular view. Kuang Si Waterfalls also is a place where a rescue center for protecting sun bears, the endangered species, is located.

After pickup from your accommodation, we depart from the city and drive about 45 minutes to get to the waterfalls. We’ll stay 2 hours in the falls and then return to the city center. This package is a private service with departure and return at your convenience and can include stops along the way (Hmong/Kum villages, buffalo farms, butterfly parks, etc.) if desired.

Activities in Kuang Si Falls

2 hours is usually enough time to relax and explore at the falls.

(1) Park The beautiful waterfalls are surrounded by a park, where you can see large tropical trees and flowers.

(2) Swimming Dressing rooms are available for changing clothes. Showers and lockers are not provided. Please take care of your valuables.

(3) Trail You can climb to the top of the falls where there are more natural pools. 2 walking trail ways. The left is easier. The right is challenging.

Destinations where we can stop by

 (1) Kuang Si Butterfly Park Situated 300m before the entry of Kuang Si Waterfall. Kuang Si Butterfly Park is a project that was initiated in January 2014 from 2 Dutch passionate people from Holland. The mission is to create a research centre studying and publishing about Laos butterflies, host plants and preservation because of environmental issues in Laos.
(2) Hmong village There is a Hmong village on the way to the waterfall from Luang Prabang. They wear Hmong traditional costume and introduce their culture to visitors.
(3) Carpe Diem Restaurant Beautiful restaurant in a marvelous setting downstream from the Kuang Si waterfalls.
(4) Laos Buffalo Dairy is the very first social enterprise in Laos producing cheese, ice cream, cakes, yoghurt and milk shakes made out of buffalo milk.
