The immersive Shakespeare experience was better than I had hoped. The beautiful retro William Morris room with state-of-the-art bathroom and breathtakng view was a delight. Food all delicious, plentiful, cooked and beautifully served. Fantastic welcome, well planned activities and lots of laughs.

An excellent Writers' Retreat. Most enjoyable and productive. Nic and Wendy are such welcoming hosts.

A place to write is one of the most rewarding, peaceful, & welcoming spaces I've ever been in. Nic provides a perfect balance of fun, informative supportive tuition for new writers plus ample time to actually get to the business of writing. There's also the option to do goal setting each morning, which I found really helpful, and a particular highlight was the intimate candlelight reading, where we were able to share our our work (not compulsory) in a supportive relaxed environment. I loved every moment. The rooms are beautiful with gorgeous views, lovely desk/chair/lamp plus writing materials, and I was so well fed (almost too well!) with simple but hearty meals made by the lovely Wendy. If you have been thinking about taking the plunge and going on a writing retreat, take this as your sign, you will thank yourself! Thank you Nick & Wendy for an unforgettable 5 days nestled in the beautiful Welsh countryside.

I had a really enjoyable retreat week, meeting up with previous guests of A Place to Write, and meeting new people. The hosts were brilliant as always, the food and accommodation perfect during my week. It was a bonus that with the stunning weather I was able to see more of the surrounding area, sit in the grounds admiring the Welsh landscape and getting some writing done. I will return when time allows me to.
