The Lochs & Glens of West Scotland Photography Workshop was the first one I attended, and I'm confident it won't be my last. Michael, assisted by Joe and Scott, provided outstanding guidance and support, focusing on specific areas I wanted to improve in landscape photography: composition, exposure, and contrast using manual camera settings. We explored some truly beautiful locations throughout West Scotland and even ventured into Glen Coe in the Highlands. The unexpectedly good weather in early March allowed us to enjoy spectacular sunrises and sunsets over Loch Fyne. Everyone in the group was friendly and eager to share their knowledge, and our evenings together were lively and full of fun thanks to the banter among the leaders. I am grateful to Michael and all participants for making this trip memorable, and I look forward to sharing and viewing the best images at the upcoming workshop review meeting. If you're considering joining a workshop with Michael Cartwright, don't hesitate—the trips fill up quickly and are highly recommended. Richard Leeson

This was a great trip like all I have been on with Michael, help when needed, plenty of locations, great group of fellow photographers with good craic and a comfy hotel with great food.

This was the first photography workshop I have attended with Michael and I would not hesitate to attend another or book some 1:1 mentoring. Michael is both extremely knowledgeable and approachable meaning you get great technical and compositional support in a down-to-earth, friendly, personable approach. The areas we visited were great, especially the final morning with mist over Windemere. The group were naturally friendly and we had lots of laughs and fun as well as learning. Accommodation was lovely and we really struck lucky with the weather. I would have no hesitation in recommending this trip to anyone interested in landscape photography, no matter your skill level.

Flights were ok. Hotel room was plain & basic. Clean & tidy. All you need when you only sleep in it. Staff were all very friendly.
