Looks like Lolo Pass is due for 2-3 feet of snow this week! Let's go snowshoeing! Lolo Pass is one of my favorite places to go for easy access to good snow and it's less than an hour from Missoula. With this much snow though, I will keep an eye on their snow management updates and if Lolo gets "too much" we'll change our location.
What to expect:
- A moderate uphill snowshoeing trek atop rolling hills.
- 3.5 mi and 500 ft elevation gain, 2.5 hours
- Panoramic views of the Bitterroot Mountains
- Snowshoe rental available!
- Group size will be 8-12 people
- Carpool from the southside Walmart available.
Please bring/wear the appropriate attire! Bring multiple layers!
Winter jacket, snowpants, gloves, hat, and base layers are recommended for this trip. Synthetic or Wool materials are recommended, but whatever gets you out on the trail is the best thing! If you don't have a winter jacket, I recommend an extra hoodie with raincoat or moisture resistant layer on the outside!
Please plan to bring your own water and snacks. 1L of water is recommended.
There are restrooms at the visitor center at the trailhead, but none along the trail.
Look for the blue Toyota 4runner at the visitor center!

Hiking Shoes are recommended. Athletic shoes are ok!
Please bring a hat and sunscreen!
An emergency windbreaker or rain jacket or shell isn't a bad idea!
