      About this trip

ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT FOR 20 AUGUST, NO OTHER SPOTS OR DATES REMAINING

Have you always wanted to swim with seals, meet like-minded ocean-loving females and explore more of the beautiful UK coastline and wildlife? This Lundy island trip is the ultimate ocean girls day out! Girls that Scuba is the world's largest female dive community, we run trips around the world, and love connecting women with each other! We run these swim with seals trips each year, and can't wait to return to the seals and wildlife of Lundy island for another summer!

Perfect for: Solo females, or friends, looking to explore, swim and meet more female ocean friends as well as discover this hidden-away paradise island in the UK. Mixed trips - for males and females - are 19th June and 26th June

Requirements: You do not need to be scuba dive certified. You should be a confident swimmer. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

      Logistics

The trip starts and ends at Ilfracombe Harbour (carpark is EX34 9EQ) you will need to arrive at 8:30am on the day of your trip.

Trip duration is usually 8 hours depending on tide and weather. Trips are planned around the tides and with this, in mind start, times vary slightly, according to the state of the tide on the day. We leave at 09:00 and aim to arrive back around 5.

If you are not from the local area, it may be nice to stay in Ilfracombe overnight rather than driving back after a long day on the boat - there are usually other Girls that Scuba guests that do this, so you can all have dinner together in Ilfracombe.

      You will need

      • Your own packed lunch/snacks/waterbottle Reef-safe suncream
      • Warm clothes for the boat ride
      • A set of dry clothes to change into to walk on the island - no particular shoes are necessary
      • If you want to duck dive/free dive you will need your own weight belt with weight
      • Seasickness tablets if you get seasick
      • If you have your own gear bring along: Wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins. A 5mm wetsuit is recommended plus a hood and gloves if you have them

      Weather Cancellation - PLEASE READ

Please note these trips are subject to weather. The ocean can be choppy in the Bristol channel and the crossing from Ilfracombe to Lundy can sometimes be a rough ride. The captain will aim to make the final call on any weather issues 48 hours before the trip - however, this isn't always achievable due to how quickly the weather changes.  We should also get a better forecast 7 days before the trip, so aim to keep you informed via email of any potential changes in advance. If your trip is cancelled because of bad weather we will re-schedule the trip or we will offer you a full refund (please note, this is only if the whole trip is cancelled due to weather). Please keep this in mind if booking accommodation - it is best to book accommodation that doesn't require full upfront payments or allow cancellation.

      Cancellation

Full payment is required to book. Your cancellation options - because of any reason - are:

30 days before the trip - no refund

31 days before the trip 50% refund

      Your Hosts

18th  & 19th June: Sarah Richard, founder of Girls that Scuba.

All other dates: Amy Clark. Amy is a Blue Health Coach and Hypnotherapist, who empowers ocean activists to protect the planet whilst living a life that they love. She is also an eco diver and free diver who loves to cold water dip and spends as much time by the sea as possible, whilst inspiring others to do so too.

19th and 26th June trips are mixed trips for males and females - bring your partner/friends/family!

      Amazing experience!

I've been on a few GTS trips now, and I will never hesitate to book one of their trips again (I have 2 more coming up this year already!) I know I can trust GTS to book the best possible dive boat for our needs, in some amazing dive places around the world. This trip was no different. The Amira is such a beautiful looking boat, with 3 masts for sails. The boat is well designed and comfortable. The crew is superb - nothing is too much trouble, they're always friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and plentiful. As for the location, if you haven't been to Raja Ampat, book the next GTS trip, it's incredible. Lush extensive reefs that look in good condition. The amount of marine diversity, and the huge schools of fish is mindblowing. Don't wait, go!

The liveaboard was incredible! Absolutely a trip of a lifetime! I made amazing new friends, saw SSSOOO many mantarays, sharks, dolphins and even a tiger shark on a safety stop! The staff on the liveaboard was so attentive and caring! They truly made you feel like family! I already miss Mar not being there to serve up fresh, warm home made cookies on the surface intervals! If you're thinking about booking the trip - highly recommend to do so! You WONT regret it!!!

Not to be dramatic but this trip truly was amazing. This was my first Liveaboard and it has definitely made my standards high. Staff, dives, food, accommodations, marine life, sunsets and more were all so freaking awesome. So grateful for good conditions and an amazing week out in the big bad ocean.

Amira was amazing and Charlotte did a great job with the organisation. We had lots of fun both under the water and on land.
