About this trip

OVERVIEW: 
This route takes you far off the beaten track to where you can meet and interact with members of traditional Andean communities, visit local schools, and hot springs, and walk along with llamas and alpacas. This is a perfect trip to experience the rich history and culture of our country.
 

During the Lares Trek, we will see more nature, lakes, and birds, and it is one of the less crowded routes. This tour is perfect for couples, family, honeymooners, and solo travelers to join a nice, fun group of travelers.

ITINERARY:
Day 1: Cusco – Lares Thermal Baths – Kiswarani - Blue Lagoon (10 km, 4 hrs)
Pick up at 4.30 am from your hotel in Cusco and drive for 3 hours to the hot springs of Lares to visit the medicinal hot springs of Lares. You will have time to enjoy the natural thermal baths and enjoy breakfast nearby. 
After Breakfast, you start a 2-hour hike to Kiswarani village where lunch will be served, next, its a 2-hour hike to the Blue Lagoon, and we will camp next to the Lake

  • Meals: Breakfast, Snacks, Lunch, tea time, dinner
  • Accommodation:  Luxury camping with hot showers and massage
  • Drinks available: Wine, Champagne, beer, sodas
  • Hiking hours: 4 hours
  • Hiking distance: 10 km

Day 2: Kiswarani – Condor Pass – Canchacancha (14 km, 7hrs)After breakfast, you will start hiking for 4 hours up to Condor Pass (Condor Pass (4750m) where our shaman will perform a traditional ceremony to thank the Local gods, after enjoying a coca tea, you will continue for 1 hour down to our lunch Place at Acopata. 
After lunch, we continue for 2 more hours to CanchaCancha Village where we spend the night.

Day 3: CanchaCancha - Huaran– Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes (12km, 4 hrs)Wake in your tent with a cup of coffee or tea, have breakfast, and you will visit the local houses to learn about their lifestyle. Next, you will hike down to the Sacred Valley for 4 hours where we will enjoy a traditional Pachamanca barbecue. 
After lunch, visit Ollantaytambo and  board the train Aguas Calientes, dinner will be served at a local restaurant, and spent the night in a hotel

  • Accommodation:  4-star hotel (Tierra Viva)
  • Drinks available: beer, sodas at lunch
  • Hiking hours: 4 hours
  • Hiking distance: 12 km

Day 4: Machu Picchu (The Lost City Of The Incas) – 4 hrsAfter breakfast in the hotel, you will board the buses up to Machu Picchu, explore the citadel with a private guide, and have lunch in the Machu Picchu hotel. 
Later in the afternoon, you will board the Panoramic Vitsaodme train back to Ollantaytambo and a private van back to Cusco, the expected arrival time is 7:pm

Trexperience as a whole was nothing short of incredible! In general, truly wonderful staff, willing to help and answer all your questions. Our tour guide was MARITZA (extremely amazing human being) I had the fear that maybe we would be asking for to many request or to many questions, but her customer service was always a priority. She is super genuine & willing to find a way to make us feel as comfortable, relaxed and taken care of as humanly possible. Maritza went above and beyond her job requirements.

We had an incredible time with TreXperience! Maritza is everything you want in a guide - really knowledgeable, motivating, and great fun! The trek itself was superb with some fantastic scenery and a good sense of challenge (without ever getting too hard). Plus the catering was phenomenal! Our chefs Francisco and Julio went above and beyond, whether they were bringing us hot chocolate and popcorn after a long day or managing to produce outstanding meals seemingly out of thin air! This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! It was incredibly hard but incredibly beautiful and so worth it! Our guide Jose Luis (Pepe) was amazing - from his knowledge on the Andes and Incan history, to his friendliness, attentiveness and the care he took of us through the 4 days - 5 stars! Trexperience did a great job with the camping equipment provided (the sleeping bags and tents kept me warm through the night at the highest altitudes when it got below freezing, and the campsites were always set up an ready for us at the end of each day) and the chefs did an amazing job for every meal they provided - not only in the quality and taste of the food, but they even put effort into presentation! All around great tour, I highly recommend it!
