Each room is artfully designed with local textiles and cozy touches, offering stunning views of the lake or lush gardens. Your Leader

Ananda Das is an accomplished Bhakti Yoga teacher and kirtan artist. With over 17 albums and 3 million streams, his soulful mantras and music deeply resonate within the global yoga community. He is a Master Sattva and Kundalini Yoga teacher and is the founder of the Modern Bhakti Yoga Academy. He offers a 300 hour teacher training as well as hosts an online membership platform. Whether through his powerful chants or insightful teachings, Ananda Das guides students toward profound spiritual and personal growth.

Earn 50 Hours Yoga Alliance Credit

This training also offers 50 hours of Yoga Alliance credits and counts towards the completion of the Modern Bhakti Yoga Academy 300-hour certification. Whether you're aiming to complete the full 300-hour certification or simply wish to experience this unique training, you're welcome to join.

7:00 – 8:30am 🌞 Morning Yoga
Start each day with an energizing and grounding yoga practice to awaken the body and open the heart.


8:30 – 9:30am  Breakfast
Enjoy a delicious, organic vegetarian meal with views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes.


10:00 – 11:00am 🎤 Vocal Empowerment & Stage Presence Techniques
Strengthen your voice, expand your range, and learn to sing with confidence and clarity.


11:00am – 1:00pm 🌺 Free Time / Integration
Relax, reflect, swim in the lake, receive a spa treatment, or journal in the gardens.


1:00pm 🥗 Lunch


2:00 – 3:00pm 🎹 Instrument & Rhythm Hacks
Refine your harmonium, guitar, or rhythm skills with simple, effective techniques for leading with ease.


3:00 – 5:00pm 🎶 Kirtan Leadership Practicum
Practice leading chants—solo and in group formats—with real-time guidance, coaching, and loving support from Ananda Das.


5:00 – 6:00pm 🌅 Free Time / Sunset Chill
Time to unwind, connect with others, or enjoy the serene beauty of Villa Sumaya.


6:30 – 7:30pm 🍛 Dinner


8:00 – 9:00pm 🔥 Evening Kirtan Practice

Arrival Guide to Villa Sumaya

1. International Arrival: Most visitors will begin their journey by flying into La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City, which is the primary gateway to Guatemala. 


2. Ground Transportation to Panajachel: From Guatemala City, you can take a shuttle or a private taxi to the town of Panajachel, which serves as the main access point to Lake Atitlan. The drive typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Villa Sumaya works exclusively with our trusted transportation company, Kan Tours. Contact them to arrange private shuttles or boats for your convenience, 24 hours a day. Please note, these costs are not included in your stay. 


3. Boat from Panajachel to Villa Sumaya: Once in Panajachel, head to the public docks. Villa Sumaya is accessible by a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan. Boats to the retreat center are available regularly throughout the day, and the journey across the lake offers breathtaking views of the surrounding volcanoes and highlands. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. You will need to ask the regular boat taxis to drop you off at Villa Sumaya's private dock. 


4. Arrival at Villa Sumaya: Upon docking at the Villa Sumaya's private pier, you will be greeted by the tranquil ambiance and warm hospitality that defines the retreat. The staff can help with luggage and guide you to your accommodation.

  • Check-In: 4 PM
  • Check-Out: 11 AM

5. Local Tips:

  • Travel Light: Since the final leg of the journey involves a boat ride, it's advisable to travel light.
  • Weather Preparedness: The weather can be variable; pack layers to accommodate sunny days and cooler evenings.
  • Currency: While US dollars are widely accepted, having some Guatemalan Quetzales for smaller expenses is recommended.

  1. Payment Plans Available: Select the room style you want and then upon check out there is the option for a payment plan or to pay in full. 
  2. Cancellation Policy: Please be aware that all payments made are non-refundable. Should you need to cancel, payments can be used for a future trainings or retreats.
