Medieval Times - Middle Ages Unit Study Program

Subject: Medieval History

When: November 6, 2026 from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM

What: Educational Matinee Showing at Medieval Times, museum walk through, and lesson plans.

This is not a the public dinner show. This is a separate educational matinee program developed and offered only for school groups. This is not a drop off event. All students must be accompanied by a parent at all times. At least one parent must register, pay, and attend with their student.

Description:

Enter into 11th century history as we explore the Middle Ages in this fun, immersive learning program. This study is designed to bring the Middle Ages to life. We will visit the Medieval Times Educational Matinee and see history come to life. Students will observe the Hall of Arms Museum featuring elaborate costs of arms, medieval weaponry and other period items.

The living history experience will start with an educational presentation. The code of chivalry will be demonstrated emphasizing citizenship, justice, respect and forgiveness. They will learn about the training of a knight through horsemanship, jousting, swordplay and games of skill. Authentic weapons including the lance, axe, bola and a variety of swords are used by each knight so they will be prepared for the intricate tournament tactics as done in the 11th century. Daily rigorous training and work with the horses is done by each knight as precision and form are essential not just for battles but also tournaments. The Medieval era also included falconry used for both sport and hunting. This program includes a period style meal to be served during the tournament as part of the historical reenactment presentation. We will be seated in the Grand Ceremonial Area during the tournament and each student will receive a cheering banner in the color of the knight you will be cheering for.
