We thoroughly enjoyed our trip down the Middle Fork. MFWO went out of their way and overcame some challenging river circumstances to create a seamless and thoroughly enjoyable experience. In particular, the top of the river this year had experienced dramatic changes and creation of new rapids. The guides made a safety-based decision to fly our group into Indian Creek. Despite the many logistical challenges this posed for them, they ensured that we had just as great an experience as prior trips. They made sure the beverage coolers were well-stocked, the food top-notch and the camps set up well. By the end of the trip, the guides were our good friends, not just people taking us down the river. MFWO hit on all cylinders, from being informative to taking care of all the camp details. Can't wait to go again!

The guides are so incredible! The trip was perfect. Food is so delicious..that doesn’t really describe how good it was. I would do this trip over and over. Highly recommend this outfitter.

My son and I had a great time floating the Middle Fork. We caught the high water week for the year which was awesome. The guides truly make the trip by having the right personalities, knowledge, and equipment. The food and camping was outstanding, too. We also did a couple outstanding hikes in the evening before dinner… I wouldn’t go with anyone else.

Great trip. The guides and crew were knowledgeable of the river and the various rapids. They navigated the system with ease and confidence. The crew worked hard setting up the camping and put together great meals. Each day cleaning up and packing for the next run down the river. Stopping along the way to check out historical sites. Such as hot springs and indigenous sites. They made sure everyone was comfortable and safe. It’s amazing to see the crew work as hard as they do and, with a smile. Mike Oldhams love of the river is infectious. Awesome……..

Constructive Criticism: It would have been helpful to have a group meeting each night to go over what the next day looked like. This would help people know what to expect and how to dress for the day. The sleeping equipment. If you are going to provide it please make sure it works. Most of the sleeping pads had holes. (And we know how to properly close the valves so it was not user error) The bus ride at the end should be more coordinated. Our bus driver had no idea that she was supposed to stop for lunch. We also did not know that we had a three hour bus ride from the end of the tour to our cars. We didn't mind that the guides got wasted every night at camp but 1. they should wait until they are done interacting with the guests. ( not only directed at Kyle, multiple instances with other people) 2. What if an injury happened? We had an EMT with us (Randy) but another groups may not. Also, there were multiple times we were afraid to stand next to the guides at the fire because they were tripping and falling due to intoxication. We were disappointed that we didn't have paddle rafts or duckies. When we talked on the phone with the guides leading up to the trip we were under the impression they would be provided. But then when we showed up they were not. It would have been nice to have that communicated Positive We appreciated after the second day that some of the guides started interacting with us. Dan and Tanner made a genuine effort. Kyle also was good about checking in with all of us at breakfast and asking how we were doing. It makes a weird dynamic when the guides don't interact with the guest either in large or small groups. They did an outstanding job of providing gluten free options and vegetarian options for us. They went above and beyond to make sure they were included in all the meals appetizers and desserts. Which was really great. We appreciated how safe they made Helen and Anthony feel about being on the boats and the risks. The communication beforehand was nice to get us in a good head space and I think they lived up to what they said making all the difficult rapids seamless and safe. We appreciated how the guides tried to cater to what we wanted. Recommending hikes and hot springs we would enjoy. They also were very helpful to the fisherman and recommended flys and areas and types of fish were would be catching.
