Wake up to your first Italian breakfast and prepare to explore her secrets and mysteries in Rome.

We will gather and first go to The Museum of Purgatory in Rome (Museo Delle Anime Del Purgatorio).  Oddly located in a small church called the Sacra Cuore Suffragio near the Castle Sant'Angelo, you will explore recorded "instances" of souls trapped between heaven and hell. Many say they will try to draw attention of the living by asking them for your prayers so they can pass into heaven.  You will see this evidence, with photos of imprints on sleeves and handprints burned onto the pages of prayer books. 

Regain yourself, for next we will travel to the Ponte Sisto, a pedestrian bridge known for its mysteries. Although not as elaborate as other bridges in Rome, it's said to be haunted by the ghost of Donna Olimpia Pamphili. (More of her story during our tour!) 

We will then meet up with our first walking haunted tour in Italy.  Some of the places we will visit include Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Farnese, the famous streets of Via Giulia and Via del Governo Vecchio, another mysterious bridge, and Ponte Sant'Angelo (St. Angelo Bridge).   Brace yourself to meet the most famous ghost in Rome, the phantom of Beatrice Cenci.

What could be grander than visiting the stellar and iconic landmarks of the Vatican City and the Colosseum? 

We will start our morning fresh with a short coach drive to the Vatican City where we will enjoy the entire morning! With one of the largest collections of art in the world, including that of the Michelangelo’s famous works in the Sistine Chapel, it also is host to many legends and mysteries. In fact, one of the most prominent Exorcists that practiced here, Father Gabriele Amorth, firmly believed that demons are in the world, even in the holiest of places... including the Vatican! 

In the afternoon, after a lunch break, we will take a journey to witness the majesty of the Colosseum!  Nearby it the ruins that are perched on the Parco del Colle, where restless spirits may be connected to the Emperor Nero's burial palace.  The burial palace of Domus Aurea will also be in our line of exploration, ending with the Tempio del Divo Claudio.  Our timing is strategic, for we will stretch into her dusk hours providing the best setting for a casual communication and investigation for multiple phantoms that still roam in these ancient ruins.

We pack our bags and leave Rome! Florence is our destination, but before we get there, we must stop to explore many incredible properties that offer much wonder.

Bound to their strong religious beliefs, Italians mourn and preserve the Dead very diligently. With this you will find them lingering in some of the most ancient paths that we will cross.  Our first, is the Catacombs of St. Callixtus, where this ancient burial grounds underneath the Rome's streets. served as interment grounds in ancient Rome, where burials were prohibited inside the city. These underground passages served as a refuge for Christians, Jews, and pagans who wanted to bury instead of burning the dead.

Short coach drive will take us to the Villa San Donato, built in 1460, is better known as Villa Carmine. Will we run into the phantom of Carlo de’ Medici’s wife. Legend holds that Carlo, under the influence of his father, poisoned his own wife and that she has never since abandoned the estate.

We proceed through the incredible Italian landscapes to reach another post-mortem influenced milestone, the Mummies of Ferentillo (Chiesa di Santo Stefano), located in Southern Umbria. Here bodies buried here in the 15th centuries have preserved for centuries by a rare micro-fungus that attacked the corpses, mummifying them. Not only are these relics stirring, but the stories behind their deaths can be just as chilling.

Let's keep traveling north, until we reach our final stop for this incredible day, Spello! We will explore the Monastera Di St. Anna Foligno (Monastery of Saint Anne). Here, we will witness the disturbing burnt handprint on the door of one of the sisters that resided here, Anna Felix. We may also hear the chants and mourning moans of others that made this their earthly home.

We will settle in Spello, for tomorrow brings forth Florence Italy!

Before we reach Florence, there is one stop we dare to make ...  the Evil Tower, Castello di Poppi (Castle of the Earls Guidi), considered one of the most haunted places in Italy! If its name isn’t enough to rouse fear, then perhaps its story will. Wait with anticipation for this incredible moment! 

Surviving this, we continue on our road trip and reach Florence! The Villa del Poggio Imperiale Museum will welcome us, only because of its daunting history and spectral activity. The legend tells us of the restless spirit of Gian Gastone, the last Grand Duke of the Medici dynasty, is still wandering the corridors. 

We will settle into our historic inn, and the rest of the afternoon and evening is yours to explore Florence on your own!

After our late Florentine breakfast, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore (Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore). Built in the 8th Century, a eerie architectural feature will be explore. Could their be a curse associated with this piece of history?
 

We then stroll over to the Palazzo Budini-Gattai (Giardino di palazzo Grifoni Budini Gattai), where this 16th century landmark holds a legend associated to one of its windows.
 

After visiting the Galleriea that holds Michelangelo's David, we walk to the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. Situated in this square are the basilica which shares the piazza’s name, which hosted Leonardo da Vinci briefly in 1500. It is also Florence’s Foundling hospital (L’Ospedale degli Innocenti), a place where children, unable to be cared for by their parents, were abandoned. Much history! Many ghosts!
 

The iconic, Palazzo Vecchio, is now ours to explore. Both, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Piazza della Signoria in general, have witnessed so much blood spilled on its pavement over the last 600 years, therefore being one of the most haunted in Venice! Now, make certain you do not yell out Baldaccio d'Anghiari's name. (More on that during our tour!)
 

After a short time to take on the city on your own, we will meet up at the haunted Ponte Vecchio, and take in a walking Haunted Tour of Venice. Prepare to visit and hear the legends through the mind of a local, the Piazzas Signoria, Della Signoria, and Piazza di San Firenze. We will see the Bargello Jailhouse (National Museum), and walk the most haunted streets of Della Vigna Vecchia and Via Isola delle Stinche. Learn about Ghibellina and the haunted Le Murate Courtyard.

Today we leave our hearts in Florence and continue northbound to the spell-bounding city of Venice! First, we visit some of the most spectral villages along the way. 

 
Let us go to the fascinating ruins of Rocca di Maioloa! This haunted village has a strange story attached to it. According to legends, the inhabitants of the town used to practice rituals related to witchcraft called “The Angelic Dance”, leading to a tragedy that destroyed the entire town. 

 
We then will stop and tour the Montebello Castle (Castello di Montebello), that holds one of the most famous legends in Italy that will stir your soul. 

 
We then proceed to explore the Villa Magnoni, an abandoned home shrouded with dark mystery. Known for its incredible poltergeist activity, this is not a location weak for the mind. The town of Ferrara will host us tonight as we sleep to prepare for our incredible adventures tomorrow in Venice!

Welcome to the enchanting city of Venice, where its beautiful palaces, canals, and music will take your soul away. If that doesn't, count on its phantoms to finish the job!  

Our first stop, after our Venetian breakfast, will be Palazzo Dario. Sitting overlooking a canal, is considered one of the most haunted locations in this spectral city. It holds a terrifying story to tell. Local people call it “The House of No Return” because it is believed to eventually kill or ruin all of its owners, as well as anybody that has anything to do with it. Do we dare speak its name?

We continue on to visit the San Marco and San Todaro columns (Colonna di San Todaro). The San Marco and San Todaro columns (Colonna di San Todaro). Sitting at the entrance of the landmark San Marco Square, these two columns don’t have such a happy past, and are said to carry a curse as a result of the history of being the execution site for many hundreds of thieves, enemies of the Republic and murderers. 

We will visit the Crypt of St. Mark's Basilica, Venice’s most famous church. who hides a secret. For there, underneath its marbled floor lies a crypt fashioned out of the earliest buildings of the basilica. Here in 1094 the remains of St. Mark’s – the patron saint of Venice – were laid to rest in secret.

Cannot take you away from the Crypt mood! We will stop by to the Flooded Crypt of Church of San Zaccaria (Chiesa di San Zaccaria). Also located underneath the church, a 1105 fire led to some of its intense mysteries. 

The mysterious Palazzo Mastelli, with a dark history, is ours to behold, followed by the Casino Degli Spiriti. This beautiful palace facing the bay north of Cannaregio served as headquarters for many religious sects where they would invoke spirits and demons. 

Do we have time for another Crypt? We must, so that we can visit Crypt of the Chiesa San Simeon Piccolo (Chiesa di San Simeon Piccolo). The crypt is covered with frescoes depicting scenes from the Last Judgement and the Old Testament. 

We will return to our hotel, so that we rest for one of the premier activities of our tour. A visit and ghost hunt of one of the most haunted abandoned properties in the world, Poveglia Island.

Sleep in, travelers, for your Venetian Adventures last night consumed our hearts and souls! Today we will take on Venice to ourselves for a splendid day of shopping, lurking, and taking in her delights. 

Before we do so, let's treat you to a fun activity. We will learn about one of Venice's most colorful residents and some of the chilling remnants he left behind with Casanova’s Prison Walking Tour in St. Mark's Square. 

When evening starts to settles in, we will take you to a fantastic dining spot, filled with history and palate pleasing Venetian delicacies. The time arises for our Celebration Dinner that will honor the time and memories we spent together in Italy.
