Discover the Sweet Life | Tuscany, Italy
May 2026
“Tuscany is a dream woven into reality, a journey back in time and forward into enchantment, where every moment feels like a timeless masterpiece”
-Unknown
Join us in the picturesque rolling hills of Tuscany where a kaleidoscope of colors, landscapes, art and rich culture meet under the soft embrace of golden sunsets and a quieter, softer pace.
The Italian concept of la dolce vita—literally “the sweet life”— is about finding beauty and pleasure in simple, everyday moments. It's a mindset: slowing down and focusing on the things that truly matter.
Amy Hagan, Mel Wegimont, and Michele Maker lead a week living this sweet life, savoring mindful moments, connecting with your stunning surroundings, and nourishing YOURSELF through a harmonious symphony of the senses, in a setting with a one-of-a-kind natural, cultural, and historical heritage that has fascinated visitors for centuries with its breathtaking panoramas and pastoral countryside. Rich and surprising, Tuscany can enchant like few other places can.
Our retreat accommodations are Montemelino, an organic farm of about 60 hectares, located on the northern hills of Lake Trasimeno, around 300 meters above sea level, on a beautiful hill overlooking the lake. Located on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, Montemelino is surrounded by spectacular landscapes and quiet villages, a few kilometers from Cortona, in the province of Perugia. It is the ideal place to relax and visit the characteristic villages. The farm has been run since 1961 by Margret and Guido and now by Sabina, Margret’s daughter. Guido’s creativity and style are everywhere in Montemelino, and many of his murals make each house unique.
In addition to the production of quality wines and oil, the 17th-century villas have been renovated and modernized, but still exude rustic charm and offer a glimpse into Italian history. The cottages are nestled into two hamlets on the property: Borgo Dante and Fonte Sant’Angelo, which have been transformed to welcome visitors in the green heart of Italy. The restoration of the old buildings has respected the local features, while offering modern comfort and a particular attention to eco-sustainability: the houses are powered by solar energy, and a power station is available to guests. Two swimming pools are discreetly inserted between the olive trees of two hamlets.
Enjoy a variety of offerings on this rustic estate, from daily yoga + meditation in the countryside, to tours of local towns, a cooking class, wine tastings, picnics on the hillside, and far niente: the sweetness of doing nothing.
See, Hear, Breathe, Feel, and Heal, under the Tuscan sun, an invitation to slow way down as you discover a path to inner peace.
ATMY+W retreats offer an opportunity to connect on a deeper level, beyond the studio, cultivating a community of support, or Sangha. Our curated retreats are soulful journeys for the body, mind + spirit inspiring transformation, renewal, joy, connection, and moments that matter.
Some important notes:

.Amy Hagan has been teaching yoga since 2003 and loving every minute of it! She draws most of her teaching style from the Kripalu School of yoga. Originally trained to teach at the Yoga Center of Amherst with Patty Townsend, Amy has also completed Yin Yoga and Meditation Teacher Training with Jenn Thomas and Dr. Tracey Meyers, advanced Chakra Yoga with Todd Norian and Anodea Judith, and is also certified in Reiki. Since discovering her passion for yoga she has made lots of new friends and had many enlightening adventures including a pilgrimage to Rishikesh, India. In addition to her classes, Amy teaches All That Matters' Yoga 101 program in South Kingstown, RI and enjoys turning new people onto yoga.
Amy’s classes flow at a moderate pace to build strength, become more grounded, and access the breath more fully. Options are always offered to encourage students to respect their own limits or go deeper. In her classes expect to laugh, connect with your yoga community, and have fun while also connecting with a deep sense of self. Amy previously owned a yoga studio in East Greenwich, RI called the Yoga Annex, she is a dog walker who hikes her packs throughout the many woods and trails of RI., and she also does voice-over work and TV commercials for local businesses.
Mel Gorman Wegimont has been teaching transformative yoga classes for 13 years. She completed her 200-hour teacher training with Cathy Cesario of Spirit Tree Yoga and her 500-hour Prana Flow® teacher training with Coral Brown. She is trained in Restorative Yoga through Jillian Pransky, is a certified Reiki Master and a co-teacher in the Pranotthan Yoga School 200 and 300 Hour Teacher Trainings. Mel’s journey with yoga has led her to study in Rishikesh, India and beyond.
She regularly leads local workshops and trainings as well as yoga retreats around the world.
Mel became a student of yoga and the healing arts in 1999, when a friend brought her – one week after a breast-cancer diagnosis – to Kendall Sheldon's yoga class. In that first class Mel discovered the healing power of yoga, and today she is not only radiantly healthy but also joyfully sharing the healing benefits of yoga with students and mentoring others coping with cancer. Her practice and teaching are informed by study with numerous teachers, and her classroom setting is one of safe and sacred space where her students encounter a mixture of levity, reverence, and honesty as Mel guides them to their own experience of yoga. She encourages students to take their yoga – this practice of finding what they need in body, spirit, and heart – off their mats and into their lives.
Michele Maker is a graduate of the Pranotthan Yoga School's 200 and 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings and is certified in Restorative Yoga, Reiki at the Advanced Level, and Transcendental Meditation. She is also the Co-Director of All That Matters Yoga + Wellness. Throughout her journey Michele leans into her diverse experience in the arts and entertainment world, leading the marketing and promotions division for a radio and media group in Providence, overseeing a waterfront venue in Newport RI producing concerts and cultural festivals, an international boat show, and an outdoor skating rink. Over the past ten years, she has embarked on entrepreneurship and small business, creating an event production company, and expanding her portfolio to ownership of a contemporary art gallery in Newport, representing artists from all over the world, and most recently launching s’OM, the boutique alongside ATMY+W. An avid yogi for over 30 years, Michele found her home years within the All That Matters community.
A seeker and explorer by nature, Michele enjoys finding innovative ways to share yoga and revolutionary healing through community, connection, and joyful experiences. In her classes, she fuses vivid imagery, creativity, expansive breath practice and a whimsical, playful flow, guiding her students on a journey of joy, presence, and empowerment. Michele credits yoga and mindfulness practices as her anchor during the most pivotal times personally and professionally and is committed to cultivating ATMY+W as a sacred space for healing and reflection. She believes she is truly living her dharma at ATMY+W as a community builder, creating and holding space by curating a welcoming sanctuary for all through mind-body-spirit connection.
