The retreat is located on a habitat preserve; adjacent to 650 acres of state parkland, along the beloved Yuba River. Just over 2 hours from The Bay Area. Explore creek waterfalls and private trails along the Yuba River.
With the backdrop of nature’s sounds, the aromas of old pine and oak trees, the medicinal plants that live in the winding trails, our getaway is the ideal place for rejuvenation, rest, and reconnection.
Intentional in design, the home itself holds an artistic rustic aesthetic. With a big, sunny deck overlooking the forest, it’s easy to bathe in the simple luxury of feeling the warmth on your skin and attuning to the subtle rhythms of nature around. Every bedroom is made up with organic linens. Each bathroom features organic towels with natural products.
You may book a private king bedroom with your own bathroom, a private queen bedroom with shared bathrooms, a shared queen bedroom {shared households only—please message us to arrange}, a private cabin near the river, or pitch a tent in one of our campsites. WiFi is available at the main retreat house but is very limited in the surrounding area.

Policy stated to attendees: The property owner has set the threshold for canceling or delaying the retreat at an AQI of 125 or higher 24 hours before our retreat begins, since the numbers can shift so rapidly. Therefore, I will plan to run the retreat if there is no imminent fire danger and an AQI of 125 or lower, 24 hours before we convene. If the AQI improves one day after the planned start date of the retreat, we will move forward with the retreat starting on the second day and a prorated refund will be given for the missed day.
Explore the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the sacred Yuba River. If you ask any local, they’ll tell you the Yuba is a place like no other. Come to be cleansed, inspired, or simply soak the crystal clear waters for rejuvenation. We believe Nature is medicine and beneath all our conditioning, it’s our inherent state of being. Through wilderness immersion, we reconnect with the land, the plants, the animals, and the subtle rhythms of the river to strengthen our intuition, creative flow, and connection to life. A return to nature is a way home to ourselves.
"I have travelled with Lila Heller before and knew to expect the best, but this retreat surpassed all of my expectations. Not only is Lila the most skilled pilates/movement instructor, I have ever worked with, but her ability to hold space, create comfort and generate laughter is truly exceptional. I am so grateful for the time we had together in Mexico, and for all of the women who joined the retreat. I cannot wait to travel with her again!"
-Rosei Skipper from Journey to The Heart 2023
" I didn't realize how much I needed this retreat until I experienced it. Lila gifts each of her participants with a re-grounding back into their bodies, a re-connection to our spirits. And, unexpectedly, I left with new friendships and a new community."
