Na’atik’s nonprofit Maya Immersion program is a unique opportunity to learn Yucatec Maya experience authentic Maya-Mexican culture and make unforgettable memories, all while supporting a good cause! Based off the beaten path, in the city of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, our school is at the heart of a community untouched by tourism. English is not widely spoken here, giving you the perfect chance to practice and use Maya in genuine everyday scenarios.

We will introduce you to your homestay family and provide you with your itinerary before leaving you to settle in and get to know your hosts. On Monday morning we will meet you at Na'atik for an orientation before your first class.
On Monday evening you will take a walking tour of Felipe Carrillo Puerto culminating with a welcome meal at a traditional local restaurant featuring antojitos, or small plates.
You will have daily classes Monday - Friday with a local teacher. Group classes will contain between 1-5 students of the same level. Classes will be between 2-4 hours long. Private classes will be 1-on-1 with your teacher.
Your immersion experience includes a visit to beautiful secluded Maya cenote, where you can swim, relax or just enjoy the idlyic surroundings. We also have a wide range of additional excursions and activities available to reserve either in advance or while you are at Na'atik.
Stays of two weeks or more also include a cooking class with a local homestay mom.

Na'atik is a nonprofit school and your immersion experience helps us to offer subsidized English classes to local and Indigenous children. If your visit is during the school year you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with our local students. They love showing off their language skills!
After your final class celebrate your achievements and progress at your Na'atik graduation, where you will receive a certificate and a Na'atik t-shirt.
