A return to The Open rota after 39 years in 2006 and another mighty champion was born... in the shape of one Eldrick "Tiger" Woods.  2012 saw the first ever playing of the Woman's British Open at Hoylake. where a great champion emerged to take the title. Jiyai Shin.  In 2014, Rory McIlroy clinched his first Open Championship and third major title with a two-shot victory over Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler on a thrilling final day at Hoylake. 2019 brought the Walker Cup, in Liverpools 150th year, and in 2023 The Open returned with Brian Harman walking away with the Claret Jug.

Today the group will play Royal Birkdale, ranked 19th in the World by Golf Digest Top 100 courses in 2024 and host to the 2026 Open Championship this coming July.
