it was between 4 and 5 stars, but defaulting to five stars sent it back to four. It was a great trip. No major glitches. Some minor ones were beyond your control, like the 2.5 hour final dinner. Other minor ones include schlepping our clubs more than expected, and not being alerted about the lack of housekeeping at Dondonald. Breakfast at Dondonald was mediocre (especially compared to Innside). Final comment is that in the talks we were told we could expect some special events after golf, perhaps a whiskey tasting, but nothing like that was arranged.
So those are some minor reasons it is not a five, but the overall trip was a success. Thanks.

Fantastic time, great views, great accommodations. Golf experience was less than 5 star. The greens were not up to expectations and the food was mediocre

Just returned from a week-long trip to Scotland. We had a great experience! The courses we played were outstanding and the accommodations were nice. We did three days in the Highlands and four days in St. Andrews. It was a long drive from Inverness to St. Andrews, especially after 36 holes but it was worth it. Our driver was great and he made sure we arrived everywhere on time. We had a couple of extra requests while we were in Scotland and Fairways to Heaven was able to deliver. It was very much appreciated. Can't wait to plan another trip.
