⫸NAMASKAR DEAR YOGIS!
Practice, Pray, Renew, Recharge and Adventure with Ammie and Lizzy at a luxury eco resort nestled in the sacred Incan valley centered between the ancient mystical site of Machu Picchu and Cousco.
Not only is Peru a dream destination for tourists from all over the world due to its natural pristine beauty and ancient well kept ruins, it is commonly believed to be the spiritual center of the world by Indigenous groups across the globe including Tibetan Buddhists. It is considered the kundalini center of the world. The heart of Pachamama, Mother Earth. As yoga practitioners we work with the kundalini energy or life force in our bodies to cultivate health and well being of the self. On this retreat we will be physically aligned with earth’s own kundalini center! Through yogic practice and joyful experience at this energy center the practitioner actually contributes to the harmony of the entire earth!
This retreat includes daily Yoga practice and meditation as well as traditional Q'ero ceremony and delightful excursions. We will share healthy Vegan/vegetarian meals daily. Our retreat schedule will also provide space for some personal respite to reflect and recharge. You will experience adventure, a dynamic range of Yoga practices and local cultural experience. We will participate in a traditional Despacho ceremony led by an indigenous Q'ero Shaman. We will enter the womb of Pachamama, meditate and sweat in a Temazscal ceremony. We will visit ancient sites and learn about the innovation and rich culture of the Inca.
And most importantly we will have the opportunity to share in this dream experience as a group of yogi explorers!
We look forward to sharing this abundant retreat experience with you!
Yoga Practices and Excursions that retreat attendees will engage in and be exposed to:
⫸MACHU PICCHU EXPERIENCE
This will truly be a peak experience! Participants will rise early and take a beautiful train ride to the town nearest to Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes. From there we will take a short bus ride to a short hike that takes us to Machu Picchu where we will have 4 hours to explore the mysterious Ancient Ruins. This experience will be a full day!
⫸MORAY CIRCLES
An afternoon excursion to visit and explore Pre Incan agricultural terraces. These beautiful circular stone formations both express the geomantic harmony and exemplify the ingenuity of Incan and pre Incan peoples. These ancient stone circles are beautiful without explanation and fill the visitor with a sense of awe. Knowing that the Inca and pre Inca developed agricultural practices here that allowed them to grow huge varieties of crops at an altitude that would not naturally support such things. This was done in complete balance with the natural world. This expresses the reality that ecologically sustainable and gloriously beautiful agriculture was a regular practice of the people of this region and could potentially still be! This will be a half day experience!
⫸EXPLORE CUSCO
Opportunity to Explore Cusco with the group will be part of the Moray Circles experience. Let's have dinner in the city!
⫸TRADITIONAL DESPACHO CEREMONY
Our group will participate with the Q'ero in an authentic Andean offering and transformative fire ceremony after dinner, to honor Pachamama, yourself and your loved ones, with focused intentions. The Q’ero are widely known as the last living direct descendants of the Incas, having survived the Spanish conquest by receding high into the mountains. Though they do not follow a specific religion, they are highly spiritual, worshiping Pachamama (Mother Earth) and los Apus (mountain spirits) above all. The Q'eros are known as the guardians of the wisdom of the Andes. They're organic potato growers, alpaca shepherds, musicians and weavers who live in remote villages at 14,500 feet. They are one of the most isolated communities, which move with the seasons to live and work at various altitudes. They make offerings to Pachamama, Mother Earth and the Apus, mountain spirits in exchange for their welfare and that of their animals and crops.
⫸TEMAZCAL SWEAT LODGE : COLD PLUNGE : MEDICINAL BATH
Spend a morning with a complete detoxification experience, restoring body and soul while gazing at the stunning Pumahuanca mountains in a homemade Sweat Lodge or Umpina Wasi. After this profound perspiration and inner cleansing, cool off in a medicinal plunge pool or Hampi Yaku. Your restorative bath will be infused with the sacred plant essence of your choice. Homemade hydrosols include Lavender, Eucalyptus, Muña, Ruda or Molle, all harvested and distilled at Willka T’ika. This incredible experience is 4 hours.
⫸SOUND HEALING
Sound Ceremonies (or what is commonly known as “Sound Healing”) have the power to penetrate our habitual thought patterns, permitting us to reduce our mental activity and reach a profound state of relaxation. With a variety of beautiful instruments from around the world talented musicians will help you balance your mental and physical equilibrium and reach a place of internal harmony. 1-2 hours
⫸YOGA + DIET
Because we will be enjoying vegetarian meals daily, discussion on Yoga diet and transforming the heart with food will be a theme throughout the retreat. All meals throughout the retreat will embody a Sattvic Yoga diet.
⫸PRANAYAMA
We will discuss and practice breathing techniques, yogic cleansing practices, and Mantras.
These practices are designed to help students develop and maintain daily self practices and mindfulness.
*Bring your yoga mala or your chanting beads if you have them.
⫸MASTER YOGA CLASSES
