The Space

Trout Creek Wilderness Lodge is hidden away in an old-growth rain forest  where Bear, Salmon and Eagle call home and the creek meets the Molalla  River.

Lodging options include tucked away cabins overlooking the  creek, futuristic forest dwellings ("Jupes"), bell tents, and custom crafted tiny homes. All participants will have access to the cozy communal lodge with dining and outdoor areas, a fire pit,  showers, a stunning wood deck overlooking the river, a newly built cedar  bath house next to the river with cedar hot tub, cold plunge claw foot tub and sauna, a river beach, a pristine swimming hole where the creek flows into the river and the salmon breed, and of course, wild forest trails right out your front door.

The Wild

Trees include Douglas fir, pine, hemlock, maple, alder, birch, and yew. The canopy of trees houses Oregon grape, several types of fern, huckleberry, strawberry, and blackberry. The land is also home to many generations of wild life including brown bear, whitetail deer, mountain lion, bobcat,  elk, beaver, otter, owls, woodpeckers, osprey, cranes, bluejays, bald  eagles, heron and robin. The Molalla is also home to salmon (chinook and sockeye), rainbow trout, steelhead, and crawfish.

Food Alchemy Workshop with Julie-Roxane

Connect  with our French chef Julie-Roxane around the kitchen stove for a  community experience of tending the earth and connecting to the food  that makes us. A true lover of food as sentient material, Julie-Roxane’s  perspective on nourishment is a wild revelation for most and a  transmission of alchemy for all.

Travel insurance

There are two main reasons we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip: 1) Travel insurance provides financial protection in the event you must cancel due to personal injury or illness including COVID-19, unexpected scheduling conflicts, the health or death of loved ones, job changes, and other reasons. Cancellations are a lose-lose-lose situation: for you, for us, and for the group (which will miss out on your wildness).

2)  Travel insurance provides supplementary medical insurance in the case you are injured or become ill during your trip.

We strongly encourage that you purchase travel insurance, especially if you must fly to the trip location and we require you to have travel insurance that includes coverage for medical emergency for Wild Within trips conducted outside the U.S. Here’s a few travel insurance companies where you can purchase travel insurance for your trip:

Medical Certifications

Lead guides are certified in (at a minimum):

  • Wilderness First Aid (WFA)
  • Leave No Trace Awareness

We believe the greatest adventure of all is in living our one wild life—the life that is entirely our own and has been waiting for us since we were born. Wild Within was founded to help you step into that life. We support those on this journey through retreats, gatherings, courses and workshops. We draw upon the healing and transformative power of community, the wilderness, the journey and a wide range of ancient traditions and modern teachings to aid those who hear the call of the Wild Within.

Reviews

This was such a wonderful trip to be on. The accommodations from lodging, to food and amenities was fantastic. The facilitators as well as fellow retreat goers did an amazing job with making everyone comfortable and feel safe and heard. The activities and heart work we did daily really helped to open my heart and mind and in return I received powerful healing. I would suggest this retreat for anyone who is seeking deeper answers for themselves and have not been able to cultivate them elsewhere.

The leaders of Wild Within are so generous and devoted to their work for this community. Having experienced multiple retreats and community calls over the years, I can see how their skillsets continue to bloom and inspire others. This year, Oregon Awaken reached even greater depths of the soul. I was much more attuned to the voices of nature, the community and myself. Thank you, Wild Within!

Growing. I always leave feeling nurtured, seen and heart over-flowing with gratitude for the people and the experience.
