Your experience begins with pickup from your hotel in Antigua Guatemala followed by an approximately one-hour drive to Pacaya National Park.
Upon arrival at the park entrance, you will have time to use the restrooms, prepare your belongings, and begin the hike. The trail includes volcanic sand paths, natural terrain, and gradual inclines with beautiful views of the surrounding area.
During the hike, you will walk across volcanic landscapes and dried lava fields. Horse assistance is available locally for travelers who may prefer additional support during the ascent (Not included).
For safety reasons, access to the main crater is not permitted; however, you may observe steam emanations and volcanic activity from designated viewing areas depending on current conditions.
One of the most memorable moments of the tour is the opportunity to roast marshmallows using the natural heat from the volcanic rocks before beginning the descent back to the park entrance and returning to Antigua.

Pacaya Volcano tours operate during the rainy season (May to October). Rain is common during afternoon departures, so guests are encouraged to come prepared with appropriate clothing and rain protection.
Tours only cancel in cases of official restrictions, severe weather conditions, or situations considered unsafe by local authorities.
Any schedule changes or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the tour departure time will be treated as a no-show and are non-refundable.
