Trip Details
Join us for 2 night women's backpacking retreat to Point Reyes National Seashore! We’ll have spectacular views of the shoreline and ocean side lakes and set up camp in an open meadow overlooking the Pacific.
This trip is ideal for women who are new to backpacking or have backpacked before and want the ease of a trip where someone else takes care of the logistics and permits! We handle the details, so you can simply show up, enjoy, and make new outdoorsy friends. And if you're interested in learning about leave no trace or back country skills, there will be plenty of opportunities for this too!
Timing & Transportation
Meet at the Palomarin Trailhead in the late morning on Day 1. We suggest carpooling and are happy to help coordinate. We’ll end at the Palomarin Trailhead by noon on Day 3.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
This trip is for novice to intermediate backpackers able to hike ~5 miles carrying a 25 pound pack. We'll share a training plan to help you prepare!
Hikes
We'll begin our hike at Palomarin Trailhead, and hike ~5.5 miles with ~1000 elevation gain/loss to Wildcat Camp. The trails in the area are well-kept, with gentle rolling inclines and declines, leading us through a diverse landscape with beautiful views and lookout spots. Our hike to Alamere Falls from the campground is 2 miles out/back along the beach.
Yoga
Our yoga instructor will lead us in various flows throughout the weekend incorporating nature immersion through forest bathing practices. Yoga is beginner friendly and also optional!
Making a Difference
10% of trip proceeds will be donated to Venture Free Foundation, a nonprofit that seeks to empower young people of all backgrounds to cultivate a connection with the natural world and to foster the next generation of adventurous leaders. Let’s hike for a cause!
