D'Ajilo Retreat Center, North Portugal
Nestled in the rolling, emerald hills of Casal - parish of Cabeceiras de Basto - this retreat offers a calm, restorative escape in the heart of northern Portugal. Stone farmhouses with red-tile roofs and quiet lanes sit among mixed oak and chestnut woodlands, eucalyptus copses, and patchwork fields, creating a timeless rural setting ideal for slowing down.
Join us for 8 days and 7 nights at the stunning D’Alijo Retreat Center. Our retreat center sprawls across five hectares of land consisting of terraces, olive trees, mountains, rock formations, a pool, water features, and waterfalls. We will enjoy the beautiful walking trails, and adventure to the bordering national park to take in its enchanting waterfalls and towering trees.
The main house, in the heart of the centre holds our restaurant, kitchen and is surrounded by panoramic terraces. Spread over the grounds are wooden Mountain Lodges, Suites & River Cabins. All rooms have outside verandas with undisturbed views of the area and premises.
Whether you're craving movement, adventure, relaxation, or a little bit of everything, this week is all about feeling good, having fun, and making memories you'll never forget.

A boat and wine tour in the beautiful Douro Valley
One of the most relaxing ways to appreciate the breathtaking scenery of the Douro Valley is on a boat trip along the River Douro. Let your cares slip away as you glide past the layers of terraced curves that form the World Heritage Landscape of the Douro Valley wine region. The Douro River carves a broad, terraced valley of steep vineyards and dry stone walls - one of the region’s most iconic sights.

D’Alijo Retreat Center sprawls across five hectares of land consisting of terraces, olive trees, mountains, rock formations, water features, and waterfalls. Braga is a vibrant city known as the country's oldest, with over 2,000 years of history, and its religious heart. As the third-largest urban area, it combines Roman roots (Bracara Augusta) and baroque architecture with a youthful energy driven by Minho University, offering a mix of historic pedestrian centers, cafes, and green spaces.
A day in Guimarães
Guimarães is a UNESCO World Heritage site known as the "birthplace of the nation". Founded in the 10th century, it is historically significant for its 12th-century castle and well-preserved medieval architecture, including cobbled streets and traditional buildings. It is an ideal cultural, architectural, and gastronomic destination near Porto.
