About this trip

Step into an evening of relaxed, hands-on cooking inspired by Portugal’s historic spice routes. This small-group workshop draws on the journeys of Vasco da Gama, whose voyages opened a world of flavour between Portugal and the East.

Taking place on 11th, 12th and 13th April (17h30 start), each session invites guests to cook together using warming spices, fresh seasonal ingredients, and time-honoured techniques shaped by centuries of cultural exchange.

Menus are largely vegetarian, with some fish dishes, reflecting both the diversity of the spice route and the coastal traditions of Portuguese cuisine.

As the evening unfolds, dishes are prepared and shared around the table — a simple, convivial way to experience the flavours carried home by Portuguese seafarers. A glass of wine accompanies the meal, completing an experience rooted in connection, history, and place.
