About your trip

Namaskar, Dream Babes!

Practice, Play, Punk, Pray with us for 7 days of Yoga practice in a beachfront Eco resort in the quaint Mexican town of San Francisco, Nayarit (also known as San Pancho).  The retreat schedule will allow for 2 Yoga practices per day.  Attendees will receive and be exposed to a dynamic range of Yoga practices including Pranayama, Asana, Yoga Nidra, and much more.

Yoga practices that retreat attendees will engage in and be exposed to:

YOGA + DIET

Discussion on Yoga diet and transforming the heart with food. All meals throughout the retreat will embody a Yoga vegetarian diet.

PRANAYAMA

We will discuss and practice breathing techniques, yogic cleansing practices, and Mantras.

This daily 60 min is designed to help students develop and maintain daily self practices and mindfulness.

*Bring your yoga mala or your chanting beads if you have them.

MASTER CLASS

This energizing class will challenge ALL LEVELS of Yoga practitioners. Attendees will have the opportunity to take this class twice throughout their stay.   Practices will include Vinyasa, Dynamic Yoga exercises, long holds, and inversions. Queuing will include meridians, organs, emotion, and chakra awareness.

SLOW FLOW + LONG HOLDS + YOGA NIDRA

These classes will include dedication, slow flow, sensitizing movements, and long holds. For ALL BODY TYPES AND LEVELS. These classes work with the deeper tissues of the body. Ammie will also guide the class through the practice and theory of Yoga Nidra!

MERIDIAN YOGA THERAPY

60 minutes, 3 available sessions. A beautiful combination of Acupressure and MTPR, Myofascial Release Stretching, Joint Mobilization Massage, Energetic Alignment, Thai Yoga Bodywork.  These hands-on sessions are relaxing, therapeutic, and rejuvenating. This deep pressure bodywork is conducted while fully clothed in yoga attire on a large floor mat or more likely a pile of Mexican blankets.

EDUCATIONAL ELEMENT

As Mahatma Gandhi says, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Service is an often lost yet fundamental and necessary element of yoga practice. We are partnering with an organization called Entreamigos to give back and give thanks to the community of San Pancho.

Entreamigos is a community center that provides educational opportunities to local children and families in San Pancho. Its mission is to increase learning opportunities for children and families through implementing educational programs based on principles of community integration and collective action.  We will be taking a tour and learning about Entreamigos while putting our hands to work helping re-paint and clean the Entreamigos ReciclaPark.

WHY AN ECO RETREAT?

Because tourism is a force and our responsibility is to ensure that we are respecting and supporting the communities and environments in which we visit. This retreat has kept the local economies, culture, and environments at the forefront of our planning. We partnered with Hotel Maraica because it is Mexican owned, supports green initiatives and collaborates with local businesses and community organizations.  The hotel is designed to exist sustainably and in harmony with its surroundings.  That being said, there is no A/C, TV or WiFi in the rooms.  There is WiFi in the common areas but WiFi and phone service may be unpredictable and at times unavailable.  We are in the jungle after all! It is truly a practice of disconnecting so that you can tune into the experience with your body and spirit.  We will be learning about and honoring a local organization from the area to give thanks for our warm welcoming to beautiful Nayarit. The educational element will be integrated into our curriculum and more information will be posted once we complete the itinerary. Let’s help preserve the magic that brings us to Mexico!

**FULL ITINERARY WILL BE ADDED ONCE COMPLETED*

COVID-19 & INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL

⇻COVID-19 & International Travel⇻

Through conscious action, we must stay committed to reducing the burden of COVID-19 in Mexico. The economy of Mexico relies greatly on tourism and retreats such as ours, so we must do our part by respecting their policies and taking into consideration our own self-care before and during our travels. Take great care of yourself two weeks prior to the retreat. Avoid large gatherings, social distancing, wear a mask, practice conscious hygiene and self-care.

Travel requirements are rapidly changing. It is your responsibility to stay up to date with all international travel recommendations and requirements.

Please continue to reference the following websites.  It’s also important to check with your airlines, as airlines may have their own specific requirements.

CDC.gov International Travel During COVID-19

COVID-19 Information for U.S. Citizens in Mexico

U.S. Department of State - International Travel

Leaving for Mexico:

Regardless of vaccination status, we require a negative SARS-CoV-2 viral test result three days before boarding your flight to Mexico. This can be achieved through at-home testing kits or in-clinic testing.

Returning to the United States:

Vaccinated U.S. citizen and long-term resident air travelers coming to the United States from abroad are required to have a negative SARS-CoV-2 viral test result three days before they board a flight to the United States. Unvaccinated U.S. citizens and long-term residents will have to present a negative Covid test taken one day before re-entering the country.

Keep in Mind..

We will dedicate a portion of our time during the retreat to get everyone tested in a timely manner in preparation for departure flights. Hotel Maraica offers $75 covid-testing on-site.  In addition, airports in Mexico now offer rapid testing prior to departure flights. This would mean arriving early to the airport, so please stay in close communication with your retreat host.

Finally..

Testing and travel requirements are changing regularly.  We will do our best to keep you updated on general information and requirements but you are ultimately responsible for monitoring testing and vaccination requirements for travel to Mexico and the U.S.  Please be aware of how your Traveler’s Insurance covers cancellations or delays related to COVID-19. This will vary depending on the policy provider.
