FIRST DAY: We meet at our office in Banos at 9 am. We travel by private car towards Puyo where we visit a rescue center for animals including monkeys, ocelots and caimans. After arriving at the camp in the Hola Vida Reserve we have our lunch. Afterwards we will visit a beautiful waterfall, which is about two hours away from the cabins, in which we can swim and enjoy the tranquility of the forest. The stunning setting makes the area a memorable one. On the way back to our camp through the jungle we will have some explanations about the rainforest and its flora and fauna. To conclude the day, we can also visit a local family where we can learn how to make artisanal chocolate.

After this experience we will go back to our camp. If you don’t feel tired, you can go on a night walk with your guide to observe insects and frogs.

SECOND DAY:

Optional. Hike to the Hidden Waterfall for 4 hours round trip in the morning. This activity will start very early with the purpose to complete the rest of the itinerary in the afternoon

Please, be prepare for the hike because it is very adventurous , you will walk in a small trail into the forest up and down, some parts of the trail ends into the river with deep natural pools to across to the other side to continue the trail to reach the waterfall.

After lunch we will do the paddle canoe ride in the Puyo River for about 30 minutes, then we will walk uphill to a viewpoint where we have an exceptional view of the rainforest.

Then we will continue our journey and visit a Quichua indigenous community where you can watch how they make necklaces and bracelets. We can also practice the blowpipe and paint our faces with achiote, which is a natural paint.

Unforgettable experience. It was a last minute decision to go paragliding but I’m so glad I did! Imagine Ecuador got me set up with just the right outfitter to take me due to some knee problems I had. Juan made sure I was in good hands. I felt so safe the whole time in the air and enjoyed the views all around. Excellent!!
