Once inside the National Park, we walk towards the refuge that is at 4800 m, here we will rest a bit to fill our energy.

Once this is done, walk a little further until you reach the glaciers, a total altitude of 5000 m. On the way back, we will stop at the refuge to take our well-deserved lunch, followed by a descent to the lagoon of Limpiopungo.

We will return to the parking lot and take our way back to Quito.

The climate of Cotopaxi is unpredictable, so it was carried out the warm clothes with you.

The tour starts from our meeting point located in Quito at Juan León Mera and Foch streets in front of the Magic Bean restaurant.

We travel along the avenue of volcanoes to the Cotopaxi National Park.

Once in the park, we went up to the lower part of the Cotopaxi volcano.

We walk approximately one hour to the refuge located at an altitude of 4897 m. We will have a rest, then we will go up to the lower part of the glacier located at 5000m.

We make the descent to the parking lot to listen to the guide's instructions.

We will take our bike and make the descent to the Laguna de Limpiopungo. (Perform the descent by bicycle is optional)

After all these activities full of adrenaline we will have our lunch and return to Quito.

We couldn’t ask for a better time in the Amazon than we did. My partner and I are both ecologists oftentimes encounter tourguides not being fully up to speed with the flora and fauna they cover. But our guides here were amazing! So much knowledge from growing up in the Amazon, it's astounding. Heck, I even had a nasty wound healed with plants that grew around the lodge. Furthermore, we were with a tiny group, and the other lodges were pretty quiet until the weekend started (we left, perfect timing). Truly had a great time chatting with the locals and waking up to pink river dolphins everyday while enjoying coffee.

I had a great time! The staff were extremely helpful and the food was very tasty, a treat when you've been traveling for several months. The guides, coming from local communities, had incredible knowledge about the fauna and flora. They were tireless and provided us with a variety of programs. I highly recommend Dolphin Lodge for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the Amazon in a place where you are welcomed like family. Congratulations to the whole team!

This 5 days tour is not worth for the money, my guide was late to pick me up, he put me in a average hotel where air conidtioner and wifi didnt work well and no breakfast. During the tour I requested for vegetarian food which they kept forgeting. to take the tour you will need to take a boat taxi which as a customer you need to pay, plus on my last tour they drop me at agency and started demanding money to take me back to hotel which was included in my tour price. You can do this in less money by coming to island and going to direct tour.
