About this trip

This is a very fun full day tour full of contrasts. The Sarapiquí River is one of the most important rivers in the north of the country and has been used for a long time by both locals and visitors to go rafting. The river is divided into different categories. For our clients, we will enjoy category 1 and 2 water, which is easy to navigate but still exciting at the same time. We will do this tour/experience for 2 hours giving the opportunity to observe many birds and reptiles. Once the adrenaline is over, you will have a cooking lesson with lunch included.

What to bring: Comfortable shoes that can get wet, bathing suit, towel, extra clothes to get changed, coat, insect repellent, sunscreen, bottle of water, your phone and/or camera to take a lot of pictures and a great sense of adventure and curiosity. Waterproof case for your camera and binoculars are strongly encouraged.

Duration: 10 hours

Accessibility: Only manual wheelchairs. Visual, cognitive and hearing disabilities adaptations available upon request.

Interests: Adventure, Gastronomy

Tour includes: private accessible transportation with electric lift, certified English speaking guide, rafting tour, and cooking lesson with lunch.

We had an amazing 7 day trip to Costa Rica in the middle of March. We travelled in a wheel chair friendly van as my sister- in - law is in a wheel chair. Our guide (Martin) and driver (Louis) were exceptional and made travel easy. The highlight of the trip for my sister in law was zip lining and swimming in the ocean with an amphibious wheel chair. It was an amazing experience!

Clients had a great time. Communication between agent to agent wasn't a smooth as it has been in the past. I'd still use you all again in the future.

The trip was excellent. There was a lot of great discussion to plan a trip that appealed to a family with teenagers. Costa Rica is an incredible destination but it was so much better having such a knowledgeable guide. Diego has a wealth of experience and has an incredible amount of knowledge on history, plants, animals, the people - really anything we could ask. He's reliable and friendly, too. And everywhere we went, he knew everyone! It was a great pleasure to work with him on such a great adventure!

Our trip booked via Il Viaggio travels was great. Everything went smoothly, the communication was on spot, the guides /drivers that were assigned were courteous and knowledgeable, the hotels booked were as we had discussed. The activities were what we needed as a family with free time as well to relax. I would recommend Il Viaggio travels for your Costa Rica vacation.
