At El Kab, settlements date back to around 3,000 BC, rare for Egypt, spanning Roman rule. Explore mud brick walls, tombs, and shrines, including Nekhbet and Thoth temples. Visit New Kingdom officials' decorated tombs.
After lunch aboard the dahabiya, sail to Edfu. Visit the grand Temple of Horus with hieroglyphs and nearby Tell Edfu's ancient houses. Time permitting, browse the local market. Relax with dinner onboard, immersing in the Nile's rhythms for a peaceful night.

Disembarking at Bisaw Island and its village, we explore a local farm, meet residents, and discover the art of baking sun bread. Sail to El Selsela for a walk by the Nile, visiting ancient shrines and a massive sandstone quarry used for Luxor's temples. Afterward, enjoy a moonlit barbecue dinner onboard, followed by a peaceful night on board of the Dahabiya.

A unique visit to Kom Ombo & Daraw’s Camel Market
Near the dahabiya dock, explore the Temple of Kom Ombo dedicated to Sobek and Horus, with views highlighting the Nile's power. Visit the Crocodile Museum featuring mummified crocodiles.
In El Daraw village, we prepare dinner Egyptian-style! A unique off the beaten track experience of shopping in the local market and interacting with the locals. Learn about camels at a nearby barn. Explore a Nubian Town, tracing its evolution from ancient civilizations along the Nile.
Approaching Aswan, enjoy swimming or kayaking at the Nile (Optional). Inform us two days prior for kayak arrangements.
Reflect on your dahabiya journey over lunch as we sail towards Aswan. Conclude with a farewell dinner, hoping your Dahabiya experience will be repeated.

The trip to the Egyptian section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art was an exciting one. The guided tour by Ancient Egyptian history expert Mostafa was a deep dive into the history and how art evolved over different times. It was my first time knowing what a cartouche is and how to read it. Next time, I will ask Mostafa to prepare my cartouche :-)

This was one of the most interesting and fun trips I ever had. It was full of information and knowledge. The tour was super organized and well-managed. My 11 years old boy loved it the most. The Guide was super friendly and welcoming. He answers many questions with confidence and a welcoming tone. I recommend it to everyone interested in history and museums.

Mostafa expertly engaged our group by providing key points of the historical timeline to framed the specific pieces of art we viewed. He helped us learn to recognize and interpret various hieroglyphics and see how Pharoahs used artisans to communicate their power and memory. Mostafa brought the art to life. I learned so much!

I had the pleasure of spending two wonderful hours with a small group led by Mostafa through the Egyptian galleries and through the Temple of Dendur as well. He is extremely warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. His enthusiasm for the history, culture, and art of Egypt is contagious and uplifting. Before you know it, he has taught you key things to look for among the hieroglyphics and has you connecting the dots between different eras and pharaohs and cultural trends. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to go again sometime with my whole family.
