About this trip

 We will embark on a journey from Seville, exploring the renowned Roman sites of Andalusia, including Itálica, Baelo Claudia, and Córdoba, before continuing to the remarkable historical remnants of Mérida.


Our route will then take us northward to the well-preserved Roman wonders of Segovia, Zaragoza, and Tarragona, culminating in Barcelona.  


As we follow in the footsteps of Roman legions and governors, we will relive the grandeur of Roman Hispania, uncovering its architectural marvels and historical significance. This journey of discovery will immerse us in the enduring legacy of Roman civilization across its provincial lands.

Due to the nature of the group and the diverse points of origin of its participants, group airfares have not been calculated in this itinerary. However, if anyone requires assistance in planning their travel arrangements before the beginning of the itinerary, our team is available to help coordinate flights and any necessary accommodations to ensure a smooth arrival. The Included Travel health Insurance

As part of our company policy, we include travel health insurance for every participant, ensuring coverage in case of emergencies during the tour. The specific policy details, including coverage and terms, will be provided to all clients closer to the tour date.

Optional Cancelation Insurance

Additionally, we offer the option to purchase a cancellation insurance, which we highly recommend. Under certain legal or medical circumstances outlined in the policy, this insurance allows for a refund of the trip cost. If you are interested or need more details, please feel free to contact us.

After completing your payment, please send the receipt together with a scanned copy of your passport and the completed registration form to info@pilgrimgroupstravel.com or via WhatsApp at (305) 491-7562.

Your place will be considered confirmed once you receive a written confirmation of registration, within 24 to 72 hours after submitting the documentation.

Please note that space is limited and subject to availability. Once capacity is reached, no additional seats may be added. Likewise, if the minimum group size is not met within the required deadlines, the group size may be reduced.

This trip is offered as a package tour in accordance with applicable U.S. regulations and international standards on combined travel services. By booking, the traveler fully accepts the terms and conditions stated herein.

2. Included and Excluded Services

Included:

  • Transportation by modern private coach throughout the indicated itinerary

  • An accompanying guide specialized in archaeology from the beginning to the end of the itinerary

  • Accommodation in 4-star hotels, such as Hotel Azz Sevilla 4*, Hotel Center Córdoba 4*, Hotel Illunion Mérida 4*, Hotel Real Segovia 4*, Hotel Real Ciudad Zaragoza 4*, Barcelona Ibis 4*, or similar, subject to availability at the time of confirmation

  • Admission tickets to the sites specified in the program

  • Audio guide for the visits specified in the itinerary

  • Half board throughout the itinerary (breakfast and dinner)

  • Medical assistance insurance (as part of our company policy, all our clients are provided with basic medical insurance, which guarantees basic medical coverage in case of emergencies during the tour)

Not included:

  • International flights unless explicitly stated.

  • Ground transportation* to the starting points of the itinerary and from the end of the tour, as indicated in the itinerary.

  • Personal expenses, tips, and beverages.

  • Visas, local taxes, and any personal administrative costs.

  • Additional insurance (cancellation, repatriation, liability, etc.).

  • Any service not expressly mentioned as “included.”

3. Payments and Financial Conditions

  • A non-refundable deposit (amount specified on the trip page) is required to secure a reservation.

  • Full payment must be completed before the deadline indicated in the booking confirmation.

  • Prices are based on tariffs, taxes, and exchange rates in effect on the date of publication. Significant variations may be passed on to the traveler.

4. Availability and Confirmation of Booking

All bookings are subject to availability and final confirmation by Pilgrim Groups Travel LLC.

Payment of a deposit or full amount does not constitute final confirmation of a reservation until the traveler receives written confirmation from Pilgrim Groups Travel LLC.

In the event that a payment is received but the reservation cannot be confirmed due to lack of availability or capacity limits, Pilgrim Groups Travel LLC shall refund all amounts paid by the traveler in full, and no further compensation or liability shall apply.

Refund of the amounts paid shall constitute full and final settlement of any claim arising from the unavailability of the requested booking.

5. Cancellation and Modifications

Cancellation by the traveler:

  • More than 90 days before departure: forfeiture of the deposit.

  • Between 89 and 60 days: 25% of total trip cost.

  • Between 59 and 30 days: 50% of total trip cost.

  • Between 29 and 22 days: 75% of total trip cost.

  • Less than 21 days before departure: 100% of total trip cost.

Cancellation or modification by the organizer:
In the event of force majeure (strikes, wars, pandemics, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the organizer), Pilgrim Groups Travel LLC may:

  1. Refund the traveler for amounts already paid, or

  2. Offer an alternative of equivalent quality.

6. Liability Waiver

The participant acknowledges that:

  • Pilgrim Groups Travel LLC is not responsible for accidents, injuries, illnesses, lost belongings, delays, or cancellations caused by third parties or circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

  • Certain activities may involve inherent risks (long walks, stairs, adverse weather conditions). The traveler participates at their own responsibility.

  • The traveler declares that they are in suitable physical and medical condition to undertake the trip.

7. Travel Insurance

  • Basic travel assistance insurance (TravelAssist) is included.

  • This insurance does not cover trip cancellation or pre-existing medical conditions.

  • Travelers are strongly encouraged to purchase additional insurance covering trip cancellation, repatriation, and extended medical coverage.

8. Medical Declarations

The traveler declares that:

  • They are physically and medically fit to participate in the trip.

  • They have disclosed any relevant medical conditions in writing.

  • They are responsible for carrying and managing any required medications.

9. Data Protection

  • Personal data will be used solely for managing the booking and delivering contracted services.

  • Data controller: Pilgrim Groups Travel LLC.

  • Travelers may exercise rights of access, rectification, deletion, and portability by writing to info@pilgrimgroupstravel.com.

  • Data may be shared only with essential providers (airlines, hotels, insurers) for the execution of the trip.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

  • This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA.

  • Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent state or federal courts in Cheyenne (Wyoming), USA.

DAY 1

SEVILLA – BAELO CLAUDIA IN CÁDIZ (200 km + 200 km) – SEVILLA

 Our journey begins as we set out from Sevilla to discover Baelo Claudia, one of the most breathtaking and well-preserved Roman cities in Spain. Nestled along the windswept shores of Cádiz, this ancient colony once flourished as a key trade hub, exporting garum a prized fish sauce to the entire empire. 

We will walk among the forum, basilica, theater, and temples, standing against the backdrop of the Atlantic, where Roman merchants and senators once gazed out to the horizon. After immersing ourselves in this relic of Roman engineering and coastal life, we return to Seville, contemplating the grandeur of Rome at the empire’s western frontier.

DAY 2

SEVILLA – ITÁLICA (14 km) – SEVILLA (14 km)

This day takes us to Itálica, the very cradle of Roman rule in Hispania and the birthplace of two emperors Trajan and Hadrian. 

Founded in 206 BC during the Second Punic War, this city was one of the first Roman settlements outside Italy. We will explore the majestic amphitheater, one of the largest in the empire, where gladiators fought for their lives, as well as the mosaics and houses of the aristocracy, still echoing the splendor of Rome’s golden age. Returning to Seville, we will have free time to explore the city that flourished with the discovery of the new world.

SEVILLA – CÓRDOBA (141 km)

Leaving Seville behind, we journey to Corduba (modern Córdoba), the provincial capital of Baetica and home to Seneca the Younger. Our first stop is the awe-inspiring Mosque-Cathedral, built over the remains of a Visigothic church that itself stood atop a Roman temple. 

In the afternoon, we trace the Roman heart of the city the grand bridge built under Augustus, the ruins of the temple that once dominated the forum, and the remains of the theater that once echoed with the voices of Roman playwrights.

CÓRDOBA – MÉRIDA (228 km)

Today, we travel to Augusta Emerita (modern Mérida), the imperial capital of Lusitania, where Rome’s grandeur is on full display. A city built for retired Roman soldiers, Mérida boasts some of the best-preserved Roman monuments in all of Hispania. We will stand before the magnificent theater, where tragedies and comedies were performed for the elite, marvel at the colossal amphitheater, and cross the Puente Romano, one of the longest Roman bridges still standing.

The remains of temples, aqueducts, and the triumphal Arch of Trajan transport us to the days when this city was a jewel of the empire, a beacon of Roman civilization in the Iberian Peninsula.

MÉRIDA – SEGOVIA (370 km)

Departing Mérida, we journey north to one of the most iconic symbols of Roman engineering in the world: the Aqueduct of Segovia. Towering over the city, this masterpiece of hydraulic engineering, has defied time for nearly two millennia. 

We will walk beneath its massive arches, contemplating how Rome mastered the elements to bring life giving water to its cities.

SEGOVIA – ZARAGOZA (407 km)

Our journey continues to Caesaraugusta (modern Zaragoza), named in honor of Augustus himself, where the echoes of Rome still resonate. We will stand where the ancient forum once bustled with merchants and politicians, explore the remains of the Roman theater, and visit the public baths where citizens of the empire once gathered. 

As we walk through the foundations of what was once a thriving Roman colony, we will witness the evolution of a city that has preserved its classical roots through the centuries.

ZARAGOZA – TARRAGONA (233 km) – BARCELONA (95 km)

We arrive at Tarraco (modern Tarragona), the first major Roman settlement in Hispania, where we will walk through the streets that once welcomed emperors and senators. Tarraco was the administrative and military center of Roman Spain. 

We will explore the amphitheater overlooking the sea, the circus where chariots once raced, and the grand forum where laws were passed and commerce thrived.

Our final day is dedicated to discovering Barcino (modern Barcelona), a city founded by Emperor Augustus as a colony for Roman veterans. Here, we will explore the ancient Roman walls that once protected the settlement, the well-preserved remains of the forum, and the underground Roman city hidden beneath the modern streets. This city, though once small, was a vital part of Rome’s provincial network. 

To conclude our journey, we will stand before the Sagrada Familia, a modern masterpiece that, much like the Roman world, seeks to defy time and inspire awe.
