Spend first night at Ngala Board, Ferry to Kaya Mawa

Arrive at Ngala beach lodge, where you will spend your first night on an accommodation only,rate.

Ngala Beach Lodge is nestled with expansive gardens, abundant bird & butterfly life. Its private balconies of the chalets offer a beautiful view over lake Malawi, and on a clear day it is possible to see Mozambique in the distance.

Day two After a lovely breakfast you will check out at 10:00 am and wait to board the ferry, at 12:00 noon. The Likoma Express will transfer you to Likoma Island & Kaya Mawa, your final destination. This journey will take approximately 2.5 hours.

My name is Kay de Silva and I am the founder of Warm Heart Adventures, Ltd. I am Malawian and was born and brought up just outside Blantyre. I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 18 years. At some stage during these years, I started to feel the need for a more adventurous lifestyle, and the journey of a small and ever changing tourism company, Warm Heart Adventures, Ltd began. Under this umbrella we have a tour operator - Warm Heart Adventures and The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge, in Cape Maclear

Kay was fantastic, she not only arranged a great itinerary but also did all the driving (of which there was lots) while being an endless source of information on everything 'Malawi' (& more). We stayed in a variety of places from safari camps to beach lodges, a cottage on the high plateau with blazing log fires, to an historic house in the coffee plantations and rainforest. We were able to see a wide range of wildlife in some lovely areas of the country just as we had hoped. Highly recommended.

Kay was a very accessible contact person for our cars. The cars were in good condition! Everything was of good quality. Only the trunk of the Ford Ranger could not be locked and came loose halfway through the trip, so we tied it down with rope. We are very happy travellers.
