Absolute waters edge, beautiful and uncomplicated chalets, mosquito nets and comfortable beds, veranda with hammock and unparalleled views. Good breakfast tray. Kayak and snorkling kit for hire. No pool and we avoided swimming directly from the beach because of the risk of schistosomiasis, but the lodge offers treatment for those who do, at end of stay, for next to nothing. Hiccups pub is directly across the road behind the lodge, with a pool, that is really accessed, whilst having a beer, as an alternative to the lake.

We had a brilliant time hiking to Mulanje Massif's highest peak Sapitwa. It was far beyond anything either of us had ever hiked previously and our excellent team made it easy and enjoyable. We had a very experienced guide and felt safe throughout. I loved staying at the remote huts on the mountain and we were provided with more food than we could eat, along with a fire to relax by in the evenings. The water on the mountain is crystal clear and delicious - you can refill your bottle at streams and rivers. We were treated to a swim in a waterfall pool on the way down which I would highly recommend. Following our last day of hiking, we relaxed with a beer in the Africa Wild Truck lodge, which is a very peaceful and relaxing location. Our final day included a tea tasting in the beautiful Thyolo region. A shout out to Kay De Silva from Warm Heart who organised the trip with very little notice, and provided much needed advice, and to Anastasia who assisted with any queries!

Kay put a brilliant week together for us. Beach/lake, safari, hikes and some great sights and experiences. We really got to experience the best of Southern Malawi and make some wonderful memories. Transfers worked smoothly and accommodation relaxing with amazing views to wake up to. Would love to return.
