About this trip

This is a simple retreat and a sacred ceremony. This is a space of slowing down, deep listening, stillness, and being present to more deeply attune to the earth and yourself. It is an opportunity to commune with the wisdom of the land and receive what your heart longs for (knowingly or not). Is is a modern rite of passage practice that is held by community. It is place of reclaiming our inherent connection and belonging to ourselves and our earth home.

The invitation of this retreat is to go out on a day wander from sunrise to sunset on a solo experience on the land. The solo experience is supported by time in community, both before and after the time on the land. We start with sharing our intentions on day 1, spending day 2 on the land, and close with sharing stories from our time on the land on day 3. Sharing our stories helps to incorporate the wisdom or learning received from the day wander into our day-to-day lives.

This unique opportunity offers the space to more easefully lean into the quiet and solitude that many of us long for. There are not many spaces that are available or feel safe to camp, wander, and spend a full day alone while also being held by a container of care. We have safety protocols in place during the time on the land to keep everyone as safe as possible.

What a wonderful gathering of amazing women! The setting was beautiful with sounds of the ocean and forest and all around, delicious food, and ample opportunity to explore. The facilitated sessions were impactful and nourishing. It was exactly what I needed, and I will definitely be participating again! Highly recommend!!!!

Temenos never disappoints! I arrive to excited and smiling faces happy to get me settled in my camping spot for the week. The surf instruction and support is so helpful and I improve more every year. The food is wonderful and nourishing, as well as all of the mindful activities at camp and around the fire. I leave refreshed and excited to return.

Temenos Rising retreats are pure magic: Wonderful people receive you fullheartedly. They offer great learnings in and about nature and in this case surfing with incredible teachers. The facilitators are the sweetest and fully present for each individual process that is alive in that moment. The food is delicious. Everything is cared for with much love so that one can live a moment of full presence, love, joy, crying, laughter and healing, slowing down, being rooted in oneself, receiving the wisdoms nature has to offer. It becomes clear that we can be connected with almost everyone, once we are open to community and vulnerable sharings.

This was my first time camping in over 10 years and a first time on a retreat in 5 years. The schedule was a nice balance of group activities and also time on our own to explore, reflect, and be. The land was beautiful-- the sweet smell of the forest, the sound of the ocean waves in the distance, and the plush soft moss that covered stretches of the forest floor. I walked barefoot and napped on a moss-covered fallen log. Irene is a very grounded and supportive guide and she and the other participants made me feel welcome, safe, and at ease. The food, was wholesome, delicious and so beautifully and lovely prepared. A very nourishing and sweet experience.

Temenos Rising was such a blessing to attend. Four days and three nights surrounded by courageous, vulnerable, bad ass and goofy women. We did incredible heart work in a space full of compassion and love. The surf coaching was incredible, the camaraderie we built will last a lifetime and the reverence and delight we birthed will grow significantly.

A simple, yet deeply evoking weekend spent on the Retreat to Reconnect. The food was excellent, the lodging comfortable, the grounds delightful and elegant, and the company amazing and insightful. What a beautiful gift.
