CUSCO –SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES

Pick your hotel at any location in Cusco city at 8 a.m and drive for 30 minutes with your exclusive transportation and tour guide to Awanacancha, Where you’ll see llamas, alpacas, viñuna, and guanaco. Your guide will explain to you the main difference between these famous South American animals, visit the textile center to learn the weaving process, how the locals get the natural colors, and you can shop as well. It’s then another 30 minutes to Lookout Point of the Sacred Valley, to take a spectacular view of the Andes, Urubamba River, and the farming lands of the Sacred Valley on the Incas. Then you’ll visit the Pisaq Archaeological site, located on top of the Mountains with impressive stone walls, Agricultural terraces, irrigation systems, and the largest Cemetary of the Inca Empire. After exploring with amazing views, you’ll drive to visit the Local handcraft Pisaq Market, where artisans offer their ceramics, textiles, jewelry, Andean instruments, alpaca products, and souvenirs. Then drive for 1 hour to Urubamba for Lunch in a Local Restaurant with a variety of Local Peruvian dishes, using fresh products from the area.

The second part of the tour is driving to Ollantaytambo, The Last Living Inca citadel, Name this way because the current city is built above the ancient Inca buildings, the locals here they used the same foundations, same doorways from the Inca Buildings, the just built the second floor, even the water channels run with water since Inca Times. Ollantaytambo also has an impressive archeological site with temples, terraces, storehouses, and we can find the heaviest Inca monolithic transported from another mountain located 5 km away. After exploring the city, you’ll take the train to Aguas Calientes and spent the night in a hotel (Intipunku or Similar).

MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Wake up early in your hotel, have breakfast, and you’ll take the first buses up to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you need to show an original passport at the checkpoint to enter to the citadel, your tour guide will take you on a short hike first to the Sungate of Inca g¿bridge before taking you to explore the citadel. The will be a guided tour for about 3 hours visiting the most remarkable terraces, storehouses, temples, palaces and give some free time as well to explore by yourself or take the extra hikes to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (Montaña), this extra hikes are optional and not included in the tour.

After exploring Machu Picchu, you’ll take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, have lunch (not included), and take the Vistadome Panoramic train Back to Ollantaytambo and then our modern van back to Cusco, The arrival time is around 7.30 pm back to your hotel.

We (Marina, Alex and Thomas) took a trek from Lares to Machu Picchu with Filio. Ist was simply amazing. Everything was perfectly organized and the whole staff was always friendly and did an excellent work. The trek in itself is gorgeous, and even if the second day with the Condor Pass was challenging, I recommend it! An amazing experience which leaves you wanting more… but most of all our guide Filio was the best guide you could ever wish. His knowledge about nature and culture (Machu Picchu) is stunning, and he always adjusts to your needs. In fhe most difficult parts of the trek he never puts pressure on you and always gives you the right motivation. We were a little family for four days and we sure will miss him. It’s not the first tour we take, but he sure was the best guide we had until now.

Great trip thank you. We saw the numerous interesting Inca sites and an alpaca farm, with a very nice buffet lunch. The day was packed with content. Particular thanks to our guide Katya, whose enthusiasm and knowledge seemed to be boundless. She is proud of her beautiful country and heritage, and rightly so. Thanks again for providing this experience.
