The cruise continues from the harbor of Cnidos in direction of the Greek island of Kos. Later this day we moor in the main harbor of Kos, right beneath the Castle of the Knights of St. John. The streets of the city with their picturesque cobblestone pavements and lush vegetation are often lined with palm trees and let you stroll easily to the historic monuments, all reachable on foot from the harbor. Kos was an important center for medical knowledge in classical antiquity, it was the home town of Hippocrates and his famous “healing temple”, the Asclepeion. Hippokrates is considered as the founding father of western medicine, stating that diseases are caused naturally and not because of superstition of the gods.
