Pick up early at 4:30 am in your hotel in Cusco for the journey to Soraypampa at 3800m, After breakfast, you will hike to Humantay lake and enjoy lunch at the base of the Mountains. Then hike for another 2-more hour to the basecamp right below the Salkantay mountain at 4100m.
Wake up in your tent with a beautiful view of the mountains, breakfast and start the ascent o the highest pass of the Salkantay trek at 4630m, upon arrival to the pass, you’ll take some time to enjoy the views of snowcapped peaks. From the pass, you’ll descend for 5 more hours to the second campsite in Collpapampa at 2800m.
After breakfast, you’ll start hiking through the Cloud Forest with lush vegetation, bridges, waterfalls, granadilla plantations, banana plantations, until Lucmabamba Village for Pachamanca lunch (Underground barbecue) and visit organic coffee farms to prepare your own cup and learn the process of harvesting. After lunch, it’s a 3-hours hike to Llaqtapata to spend the night in a rustic lodge located right in front of Machu Picchu.
Wake up in your tent with the view of Machu Picchu in another mountain while you enjoy a cup of coffee after breakfast continues downhill to the Urubamba River to later follow the last stretch of the hike to Aguas Calientes and check-in in the hotel.
The final and most important day, wake up early and explore with your tour guide the amazing Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. In the afternoon take the Panoramic Vistadonme train back to Cusco.
