Santa Fe is just fabulous - full of art, culture, and amazing food! Once a year, the city plays host to the International Folk Art Market which features craftspeople from around the world. In addition to spending a day there, we will also have a champagne tasting, visit the Canyon Road galleries, become immersed in a colorful art experience, and taste some of the best hot chocolate ever!
The mission of the International Folk Art Market is to create economic opportunities for and with folk artists worldwide who celebrate and preserve folk art traditions. It envisions a world that values the dignity and humanity of the handmade, honors timeless cultural traditions, and supports the work of artisans serving as entrepreneurs and catalysts for positive social change.
167 artists from 51 countries from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe will be offering artwork, apparel, jewelry, glass pieces, sculpture, and textiles. This not only helps keep these folk crafts alive, it provides needed income for these artisans.

Most - if not all - of us will arrive at the Albuquerque Airport where we meet up and are driven to Santa Fe in our air-conditioned minivan. Once we've checked into our hotel (pictured), we will have some time to relax or go for a swim before we meet up again. We will enjoy the delicious fare at the Thunderbird Restaurant and then take an evening stroll around historic Santa Fe Plaza.
